When I call the number, first silence no ring nothing just silence then about 30 sec. later busy sound.

I was given this number by a robocall telling me its the Canadian Revenue agency and that I owe money.  I was told to call this number or CRA would send a collection agency after me.  I don't owe CRA anything.

These people are scammers!  Find them and put them in jail!!

Yes they are!  The machine robo-called me 4 or 5 hours later. My wife told me that several folks in Windsor Ontario (where I live) have lost 10's of thousands of dollars from these scammers.

Just got a call from them... I called them when it's a fraudulent call... They said they were from the Canada revenue headquarters and they needed my phone number to access my account ... That's when I started questioning them and they hang up.

Well this is getting annoying. Got 3 in the last 2 days. Same phone number as above. Says they are from CRN and there will be consequences if I don't call back.

Robo call ... scammer ...CRN which is NOT Canada Revenue; police in my area of southwestern ON are warning residents .. do not answer or call the # back!

I just received a call from this number today and the guy said that I have to pay cra and don't tell to anyone that I spoke with him and I need to withdraw money and after withdrawing I need to phone them again to instruct me how to pay cra. But I did not follow what he said. It's a scam.

Received a voicemail that I owe CRA and that legal proceedings were about to begin to put a lien on my house and that I should be hearing from a collection agent shortly. Being a collection agent for CRA myself made me pretty sure that the collection agent would come long before any legal proceedings would be mentioned and before that would be letter notification. Please don't reply or engage with these scammers. It only motivates them further. Use due diligence with anyone asking you for money for any reason.

I also got a message to call them   only to be told that CRA was about to proceed with legal actions against me - lien on my house - seizing all of my assets - etc... but I could pay them immediately and all actions against me would stop.  I was in tears listening to them   but when I questioning them and asking for proof of their connection with CRA  he actually gave me his name and badge #     SAM JOHNSON    Badge # 9825846     but then I said that since you are with the CRA, what is my SIN#, or DOB, or place of employment    which is available to CRA    he couldnt answer any of this and hung up.  Thankfully no money was sent to them, but they are convincing and threatening, and can soo easily intimidate the average person.  Please beware of these scammers!

I also received all call from there few times,  so I called them back,  I was in tears!  He said if I don't pay up that the RCMP will come here and arrest me within 45 minutes,  take all my assets!  I mentioned my book keeper as all that information, I can get a hold of her!  He said NO MAM you have to pay now or else you will be arrested!   If I pay 4,871 no legal actions will be made,  but if I do not pay now I will have to go to court in front of the judge and pay $65,000!  I called my friend who is an OPP and he told me to hang up right away!

Pretended to be the CRA

Definitely a fake call, but I got on Skype and called the crap out of them and they kept hanging up on me and wouldn't talk to me. LOL i'm going to keep calling them just for the fun of it

I knew they were scammers because friends got these calls before I did. I worked for CRA and know how they function. You file a tax return and get a Notice of Assessment. That tells you if you owe or not and clears you.  If you were under investigation an auditor would come and visit and advise you if you owe them anything. Then if you don't pay it would go to a collection agent who would notify you properly not issue a threatening phone call out of the blue.  I also know that "Revenue Canada" would show up on Call Display on your phone.  Mine was a generic address. Like those above me said, ignore them and hang up.  I did.

Recieved a call from 844-385-9043 regarding CRA debt which is wrong. and from 1-100-342-0000 something to do with computers. Sounded like it came from the same place. Very iritating, and probably upsetting for those who aren't aware these are scammers. Is there One Agency whom we could contact and they would take some action on these and the many others out there?  Thank you.

I received 3 calls from this number as well (1-844-385-9043) - one at 8:30am, one at 11:30am and one at 2:20pm.   They only left two messages from there 3 calls, and both were voicemail messages from a robo caller indicating they were calling from the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) that I owed them money and they were going to come after me blah blah blah, same as everyone above has indicated.   It was quite a threatening phone call.   I was ready to call the police as I do not owe CRA any money, so pretty much knew it was scammers right away.   But it is a pretty threatening call and I worry for our elderly who would be terribly upset at receiving such a call!   Plus, I am on the DO NOT CALL list!!   Sure didn't appreciate getting woken at 8:30am for this nonsense!

Got the same call today at 11:47AM. Same voice message as mentioned above. I'm in Waterloo ON

They called and said they were the CRA and there was a lawsuit against me with CRA

Scammer claiming to be with Revenue Canada said (in a computer generated voice) that legal proceedings will be undertaken and my assets and bank accounts will be frozen if I do not pay arrears immediately. Said that they will be sending the police to arrest me and lawyers to press charges and collect. What kind of moron falls for this [***]?
