- Birdman| 2 repliesMine was a text from a small bank in Illinois. I called this number after I replied "HELP" and was given this number to contact. It sure sounded like a scam. East Indian transferred to another East Indian. I felt like they were probing and stopped. I hung up. I'm going to contact my bank shortly because it's a lot different than Providant Bank mentioned above.

- E| 2 repliesI got this same fraud alert, texted help a d called the number. When I kept asking which financial institution they were referring to, they said Fiserv, but would not give me the name of my bank. Sounds like a scam to me. If you get this alert, best to contact your bank or credit union directly

- Lauren Wehrman| 1 replyI received a message with a notification to call this number if I had not requested the verification code that was sent by short code 33072. She said that it was the fraud department for all banks in the US. Unfortunately I gave my phone number (which they already had) and the name of my bank. She put me on hold for a while which gave me enough time to look this number up. She asked what name was on my card. I told her that I didn't think I would give it to her because it seemed like she was phishing, She said. Mmmhmm. I said it seems like you are the fraudulent one & that you are the one doing the phishing. She said Mmmhmm.
It was an admission of a sort by the woman, that yes, she was phishing.
So I guess I'll see with my bank if there is anything I can do with this.
Just know that if you call the number that it is a phishing scam & don't give any information to these people. Just don't call the number 844-544-3265 at all even though the call came from a legitimate short code. I hope that since they only have a phone number and name of the bank, I will not have given enough for these crooks to steal from me.- Caller: "FRAUD DEPARTMENT "

- Emmit replies to Birdman| 1 replyI called my bank and they told me it was a third party, (Visa), not them who sent the message and I could call visa. These cards are old ones why does visa keep them active? When you get a new number they should destroyed the old card. Clearly they do not do that.
- Tygerkat replies to EmmitUm, if you have the card, how is Visa supposed to destroy it?
- Eric E replies to Lauren WehrmanI just received the same exact message from the same exact short code number 33072 stating “ Your auth code is #******. It expires in 10 mins. For security, only share with agent. Don't recognize this request? Call 1-844-544-3265. Msg&DataRatesMayApply” I searched the number and it came back to banks I don’t use so I was suspicious of scams but couldn’t find the exact occurrence until now..
Thank you for posting , this clarifies a scam . - Eric EI just received a message from a nameless short code number 33072 stating “ Your auth code is #******. It expires in 10 mins. For security, only share with agent. Don't recognize this request? Call 1-844-544-3265. Msg&DataRatesMayApply” no business name or anything was included.. I searched the number and it came back to banks I don’t use so I was suspicious of scams but couldn’t find any information on this potential scam .. I did not call the number as I fear it’s a phishing scam .

- V replies to E| 1 replyI received the same text. The first thing they asked for was my ssn. Unfortunately I provided it before I thought about a scam. Before giving any other info I hung up.
- T replies to VI also gave my info. Have you had any fraudulent activity since you gave it?
- DannyText from "my bank" about a fraud alert from Amazon charging my account. It turned out to be for my yearly renewal. I responded with "no" initially and then checked my Amazon account and bank statement. The payment was denied and the automated system number asked for my 9 digit ss# immediately. So I hung up immediately as I know my bank wouldn't ask for that, even in person.
