- H| 2 repliesCalled and left a message that a package was being delivered and wanted to know if I would be home at a certain time. I stated what package and the person on the other end preceded to say they do not know what type of package, that they would have to send me to another party! I hung up and begain looking for this number and see others have been called as well. I also asked the lady where was she calling from, she stated Ashwood Management! I looked that up as well! No results! I then block the number!
- Valerie| 3 repliesI was left a voicemail and called them back and they also said they were from Ashwood Management. They said I owed from a payday loan while I was enlisted in the military and deployed overseas. She tried to cut a deal with me and was trying to be a fast talker, but I've dealt with enough of these morons to know a scam. Then she threatened wage garnishment. She also said it wouldn't show up on my credit report (which all collectiobs do). Moral of the story was, she wouldn't stop talking and never answered a single question. I just had my identity taken by an acquaintance of mine and she ended up in federal prison and I'm still trying to fix my credit from that, so credit karma is my best friend right now. Don't fall for this scam! They are predators and try to take advantage of people by threatening their finances. I dare them to threaten to take food out of my kids' mouths and I will surely show them a predator.

- Valerie replies to M| 2 repliesWho did they say they were with? And can you tell me what to do after this so they can get the legal action they deserve?
- Luther Williams replies to ValerieThis is where reading really comes in handy. The answer to your first question has already been posted. As to the second question, that answer can be found on the FTC, CFPB, and your State Attorney General's websites.
- RyanLeft message stating they wanted to confirm availability for a package delivery tomorrow, but did not explain what delivery company they were with. Scam.

- Stephanie gray replies to HSame thing just happened to me. They claimed I was sent a summons to court owning a loan company and I hung up and blocked them
- anonymousI have a voicemail from them about a scheduled delivery for tomorrow. I believe they are a collections agency or possibly even a debt collection scam, but I have not had any outstanding debts for more than 10 years and I don't have a single negative on my credit report. In the past when I have actually spoken to these people they are trying to collect on a debt that I actually paid more than 10 years ago. I think even after I paid the debt the company I owed resold the debt and it has happened again and again even though it is no longer valid. They don't actually have my address and tend to bring up an address I had 10 years ago. The other day they called me and said they were part of my Wellness group from my insurance company and needed to verify my address to send me documents. I said my insurance company has my address on file and they hung up. This whole schedule delivery call and text is an attempt to get me to call back and verify my address so they can try to reactivate a debt. And if I were to give it to them and validate the debt, then the clock starts again unless I can prove I have already paid it. So the moral is do not talk to them or validate a debt, do not give them your address, and just ignore and block them if they try to contact you.

- phyllis| 1 replysame as above, saying I had gotten a payday loan 7 years ago and never paid. said statute of limitations runs out this year and they are trying to collect like 1700 dollars. said it is ashwood management from Atlanta ga. googled and couldnt find a company by that name in atlanta.
- Luther Williams replies to phyllisThere is no Statute of Limitations in any state that is 7 years. That would be a reference to the FCRA that credit bureau reporting must be deleted from your credit file after 7 years with certain exceptions that allow for 10 years. The fact that it is running out in any case would be their problem not yours. They are now required by law to furnish you with a letter postmarked withing 5 days of your conversation stating their company name and address, the name of the alleged creditor and the amount of the alleged debt. That letter must also tell you that you have the right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of that letter. You should do that immediately by certified, return receipt mail. You won't get either from this bunch of crooks. Take the time to read about debt collection at the FTC, CFPB, and your State Attorney General's websites.
