Same here.  I called the number back and the recording identified Sullivan & Associates. I spoke to a live person who asked for my name, to which I replied "I can give you the File # that was left".  I gave him the number and he said "Hhmmm...I can't find anything with that number.  Who are you trying to reach?" then hung up.  Completely a scam!  Wondering if they are trying to get a recording of a person saying their name for further scams.  As a precaution, I highly recommend not saying your name to them.

Realized i twas a scam, so filed police report against them for fraud, harassment, conspiracy, criminal intent, extortion and falsification of legal documents. Then filed criminal complaint with Federal Trade Commission. I realize chances of finding these predators is nill, but I'm sick and tired of these scam artist. I"ve left them 3 messages now letting them know I'm coming after them.  Surprise, surprise.  They haven't called me back

You filed a police report, period.  It would be up to the District Attorney to decide what charges to file, assuming they would be caught and he would have jurisdiction, which I doubt.  What "legal documents" did they falsify?  You do not file "criminal complaint" with the FTC either.  You simply file a complaint.

Most recently I am getting voicemail messages, the caller was using a number and not my name at first. They call about once or twice a month, and then they started using my first name in the voicemail. They read these message threads, and this is how they change their strategy. They think saying your name will make the automated call more convincing. My coworkers and I share transcriptions of the voicemails and laugh about how we are being “sued” by the same people. Even funnier is they will call you from a “local” number and when you try to trace the call, it will only say the call is coming from a mobile phone, so it is a concerted effort to make you think someone is looking for you. Also, funny how they can find a number to leave me threats about this “matter” but they could not find me beforehand. Three years ago, a message said that the caller was a “locator”.  I laughed at that too, and then they threatened to serve me a summons at work via this said “locator” if I didn’t call them back immediately. Well, I didn’t call them back and nothing happened. So, since the “locator” thing didn’t scare me, a fake process server started calling me (as if they actually call to give you a warning). Granted I’ve been waiting on the process server to appear, so I can call the cops and have him arrested for attempted extortion, but he’s denied me the pleasure of doing so by not showing up. They also embarrassed me by calling my employer and informing human resources that I was supposedly being “sued”, but I have an excellent employer who as dealt with these types of scams before. As you can see they have tried just about everything. A scammer will often insist on payment "today." There might be a penalty for non-payment, such as the threat of a lawsuit by the end of the day, or some other threat which can only be avoided by paying immediately. They may also call your relatives to make the scam sound more convincing. Don’t fall for any of their tactics. Inform your relatives and your employer that some scammer is hot on your trail if the need arises. These people could be calling from China, India, or Russia – and the only thing we can know for sure is they are desperate to get their hands on our money and more of our personal information and there is no end to how low they are willing to stoop.

Called today with a message saying they had pending civil litigation claims against my name and ssn.  They never said my full name just my first name, left a file number and a number for me to call back if I did not want to go to court.  Also could not make out the company name.  Total scam!
