Blocked browser and told to call Apply Support at 844 613 2030. Error message looked ledgit. Error code smDiableSlot=-305 tell error code to agent. (I do not think this is the phone number for apple support!!!!)
The message says virus is attempting to collect data and paswords from the computer. Do not restart computer. Looks like a big scam.

They tried to pull the SAME SCAM on me... It seems very legit the way that the Apple "authorized " post appears on your/ my computer screen, and after initially falling for it - and foolishly allowing the FAKE agent access to my computer via GoToAssist software, he then demanded between $249 & $549 for security pkg installation from a 3rd party company. At that point I hung up and DISCONNECTED my WiFi connection ! I advise everyone else to do the same . *** it was a very convincing & seemingly legit scam !

Got the same error.  What do you do to fix the problem.  Safari is blocked and can't be used.  FireFox works.

Got to be kidding right? Who falls for this sort of thing?
Apple would never tell you you were hacked and tell you to pay them. Well, maybe tell you to pay them, but they wouldn't actively produce a pop up message on your browser.

Since the scammers accessed the computer, they probably did one or more of the following:
    • Disabled the anti-virus software
    • Added nasty malware to the computer
    • Copied the Contact List (so they can spam/email your soon-to-be ex-friends)
    • Copied any financial data or passwords they could find
    • Compromised your ID
    • "Zombied" the computer, so it would respond to THEIR commands sent via internet
    • Deleted some important files
    • Asked for money to repair the damage they caused

What can you do immediately after such an attack?
    1.  Pull the cables on the computer, or otherwise disable it, so it cannot access the internet.
    2.  Change ALL  passwords stored on the computer.
    3.  Run FULL malware scans on the computer, in "SAFE" mode!
    4.  Change the passwords again, particularly if the malware scans showed anything.
    5.  Inform your bank and credit card companies.
    6.  Sign up for credit monitoring, and check the status frequently
    7.  You may have to bring the computer to a local repair shop, and tell them the story.
    8.  Tell friends what happened, so they can be aware of strange emails from you.
    9.  Connect to the internet only AFTER all the above have been done.
    10.  Change the passwords on all online accounts.  Even better - access a "safe", uninfected  computer, and change your online account passwords RIGHT NOW.

    NOTE:
If your computer set a "Restore Point" while it was infected, any "System Restore" you make will re-infect your computer.  Suggest you delete any potentially infected restore points and avoid setting such restore points until after your computer has been thoroughly cleaned!

You fell for one scam, and might be susceptible to others mentioned on this site:
    http://phonehelp.2truth.com/facts.html
Read that info to educate and help protect yourself!

Honest computer companies do NOT cold-call people, or cause popups from websites to tell them their computers need fixing!

Some scammers even have websites, and falsely advertise they are associated with popular software packages or computer companies; so do NOT believe a "we will fix your computer remotely" site, and allow them access to your computer!

    Lesson:
If your computer needs fixing, bring it to a local repair shop

    Got me/9-23-15
Window pop-ups telling me I had a porn virus and that it was imperative that I call Microsoft, or the number they gave me for Microsoft, immediately. I couldn't X out of anything and when I tried a second time a recording started to loop over and over telling to me it was an emergency and all of my data was at risk. I called. After five minutes or so I became suspicious but it was too late I was already in the my computer and telling me that hackers had made their way into my computer through my flash player download then started to explain to me about Koobface. I was already suspicious of all the background noise, and why would Microsoft have a representative who was obviously from another country talking to customers in a way that was barely understandable? After he hit me with the McAfee sales pitch for 250- 450 dollars I automatically became enraged and started cussing him out and asking him why he hadn't told me UP FRONT that this was going to cost me so much money? I thought I was just accessing  tech support!  He finally told me that I had wasted "his" time also which is the biggest red flag to anybody who's worked for a reputable company. You never, and I mean NEVER talk to a customer like that no matter what you're hearing on the other end. I look back now and realize that I was in a hurry and just wanted things fixed. Pronto. Big mistake.
