This number calls our business office main line every week day between 8am & 9am CST. When we answer, the call ends...every single time. We have NEVER had an auto recording play or a live person speak. The call simply hangs up. When we have called this number back, we were given different "company"  each time. Very frustrating. We have asked multiple times to be removed from their call list, and every time we were told "this is not possible, you are not in our system," which cannot be true since we receive calls EVERY SINGLE DAY! Enough!

Kept getting calls from this number and they never left a msg so I thought was solicitor. It is Hyundai Finance, calling about a payment issue! Why wouldn't they leave a generic message?

    BEHIND ON BILLS
Call appears to be from Hyundai Finance, but a message is never left.  It is a legitimate call though, I've basically been 1 payment behind since mid May, they probably just want to make sure I know.  :(

Keep in mind, just because a number is legit, doesn't mean the caller is!

Scammers spoof legitimate numbers to trick people into a false sense of security to answer their calls and attempt to get money or personal information from you.
This is why no one will encourage others to report of legitimate numbers, as they only confuse people into believing it is a legit call when a scammer has called them and they come here to find out about the call.

If it is a legitimate call, then anyone receiving a call would know WHY they got a call from this number, right?
So what would be a reason to come and post about it to a site designed to share information about UNKNOWN callers, such as Telemarketers, Scammers and Debt Collectors?

If your call was legit,  telling about it won't  be any comfort to those who may get a spoofed call from some scammer!

Same here, they do not leave a message.  If you want me to call back, you should probably leave a message, otherwise I have no reason to call back.

    Hello again Mike,

First, thanks for your advice on spoofed callers, and how people are scammed.  It is important to know that spoofing has been around for years, and that most if not all scammers (who generally call from overseas) these days utilize it.  And yes, I am touching up on my copy & paste skills, and there was a point in there somewhere.

    1. I am not the only one to report this number as being from Hyundai/KIA, so I don't know why you're zeroing in on me.

    2. I stated that this number APPEARS to be from Hyundai/KIA.  I'm not the first to report so, and other similiar websites are reporting the same.  I concede, that I shouldn't have stated that this was a legitimate number, rather this "appears" to be a legitimate number.  Since I never answered, and no message was left, there's no way to confirm, and I suppose it could very well be from a spoofer.  I provided a little background info as to why I think it might be a legitimate call.  And Hyundai/KIA finance is also a debt collector, so that might be relevant info for some.

    3. I see your point of view, but I disagree with you here.  The front page of this website says so, and you say so; this is a website designed to provide info about unknown callers, including debt collectors.  The front page quote, "Find out who is calling and why" (there's my copy and past skill again).  So a reason to come here, might be that people want find out who could be calling from this number, and see if others were contacted by the same number.  I also reported it, and provided some additional info that I thought would be helpful.  And your argument, "If it is a legitimate call, then anyone receiving a call would know WHY they got a call from this number, right?"  I'm going to say that's not always the case.  Sometimes people don't know who's calling and why, and not everyone leaves a message.  I would be curious to find out who that could've been, wouldn't you?  Isn't that why people come here?  I can google the number, which generally leads me to this website, and see if this number has called anyone else.  If anything, it would satisfy my interest, I'm still not picking it up the next time, or calling back if there's no message.  It's a recent tactic a lot of debt collectors are using, they try to get you to call back, by not leaving you a message, but leaving their number visible on caller ID.  Becuase for some people, it drives them nuts if they actually don't know who called.  So some may come to this website, or some people will simply call the number back.  I'm still not calling you back if you don't leave a message.  If you did not think it was helpful, well that's your opinion I suppose.

    4. I agree with you, this number could very well be a spoofed number, since scammers spoof both legitimate and random telephone numbers to call unsuspecting victims.  I also agree, that we don't want people falling victim thinking that a spoofed number is a legitimate number.  Well, we do want to confirm a legitimate number where we can, and should let people make up their own minds based on facts.  If a scammer is spoofing a number, not like there's anything you can do about it anyway, except to let it go to voicemail, and call back if the message is legitimate.  If you're not sure, don't answer or call back.  If it's important enough, they'll call you back and or leave you a message.  Either way, there's really no way for someone to tell if a number is spoofed, unless you actually pick up the phone and talk to the person on the other end, and try to determine if it's a legitimate (meaning the caller is who they say they are, whether that's a debt collector, telemarketer, etc.), or a scammer calling from a spoofed number.  It'll either be a legitimate person, or some bozo trying to get your credit card number.  If you're not sure, don't answer or don't call back.

Sorry we couldn't have a more cordial converation.  I must admit, I was a little pissy there in the begining because you were being a little pretentious.  But, my "No S**t Sherlock" comment was perhaps a little inappropriate, so I should apologize there.

    Anyway, take care.

I don't know where you got the idea I was zeroing in on you, I merely posted an informational post about  spoofing, nothing directed at you ( or anyone) specifically. My post where I replied to you was because you replied to me with a copy/paste from the Homepage and did not say what that was for, so you got the reply I gave. I ignored the Thank you Captain Obvious "No sh*t Sherlock" comment. Thanks for admitting it was yours.

Its understandable people want to know who called, even if its the legitimate business it belongs to. But the problem here is this site is aimed at exposing scammers, shady businesses, telemarketers, survey calls, political calls and other unwanted types of calls. Its not about who owns the number (like a phone directory) or what they did for you (like an advertisement or review). If you see who it was and say to yourself, "Ah, ok, I know them", then why post all about the experience of your call at that point, since it is not an unknown/unwanted call anymore?
Posting who the actual number belongs to is not the issue, its the detailed posting about those legitimate calls that are of no use to those who come seeking who called. Just knowing who the number belongs to is generally more than enough if they are a customer or had some relations with them to know who called.

The problem with posting detailed posts on legitimate calls is scammers come here to shill about the numbers they spoof and convince call recipients its ok and everything is legitimate with the number. So when someone posts "its legitimate", its warranted to post that scammers spoof legitimate numbers, especially when several people post about how legitimate the number is. Numbers that are getting "legitimate" posts are targeted numbers for scammers to spoof and those posts just make it easier for them to scam with, since anyone looking up the number will see all the people saying how legitimate the call was and all those "legitimate" details are information scammers use to their advantage.

I know the homepage can be a little "misleading" in how its worded (Reverse Phone Number Lookup), but after you read enough posts here, you get the idea of what the site is really about.

No message left, unknown caller.   I tried to google this number, and looks like a lot of people are repoting this as a Hyundai/Kia number.  Could've been a legit call from Hyundai/Kia, but reading the comments above, could also be a spoofed number.  It's fairly reasonable to assume that scammers would spoof legitimate numbers, to get unsuspecting folks to pickup...  I went to Hyundai Finance's website, and found the contact info below, maybe it'll be useful to some of you.

They don't leave a message, it comes up on my cell as "scam likely" but then they call my work phone directly after. I do own a Kia but I do not finance through that company but through another and I'm not late. Not sure who this is that is calling but it is not legitimate.
