the person said it was Canada revenue , but hung up on me when I yelled at him for leaving a threatening telephone call - person on the line did not speak French as is required

Threatening call purportedly from Canada Revenue.  Obviously a scam.

Left message -- said to be from Canadian Revenue Agency about my tax fraud and to call back or else! Obvious scam.

Received the same message yesterday around 5 p.m. No name attached, just the number to call, which by the way just rings endlessly with no form of legality at all. Same threat about tax fraud, but also with a message about the urgency of things "going bad" for me and remaining a good Canadian citizen. They had no addressing of my name - just started in with the threat. Interesting that these are all Jones -  using the phone book?

Automated sounding voice mail message left: I am calling from Canadian Revenue Agency as we have received a legal complaint on your name in regards to tax fraud. We have been trying to reach you for months and months. You or your retained attorney need to call us back on 844-661-5447. If you want to save your dignity and be a good citizen of the country or else, you are the best judge of your self.

same message as above - just curious about the locations - does anyone else above live in the Barrie area?  I do, and wondered if this is widespread, or if one area has been targeted. I found it creepy to come home to that message, and was glad I wasn't home, and therefore had time to research before  panicking! I will call CRA first thing Monday.

Yup, in the Barrie area, got the same call 2 hours ago, with the same last name as the rest of you. Just a crap call, no one needs to worry. Delete it as nothing will ever be done about it. We are finishing up with Bell shortly anyways so most of these calls will go away.

I am french too. When I called the person refused to speak to me in french. When I insisted I was said «[***] you»...

I live in Montreal. Just received same message, in English. Illegal in the Province of Quebec as stated previously by somebody else. Obviously a scam .

Got the call and phoned Revenue Canada. He said everything was fine and that R.C. would never phone you about a problem. Lots of scams out there.

We have an unlisted number so this is totally a bogus call.  Beware!!!!

I'm in Montreal and just got the same disturbing call on my invoice machine. My name is not Jones so i dont have a phone number under Jones, but i have a email under Jones!!!
