Answered the phone.  No one was there.  Hung up.  They called back in about 10 minutes. I didn't answer and they left no message.

US Bank advertising call and left message.  Phone ID comes thru as 800 Service

Called and left a message saying they were us bank and to call them back. This number isn’t even close to the us bank customer service number. 🧐

This number called me and wanted my social, address, and phone number. I didn't feel right about it, so I hung up on them.

Call is from US Bank mortgage servicing team. I have a new mortgage with them and they called to welcome me and ask if I had any questions or concerns. Very nice person on phone.

Robo call comes up as "no name" & generic robo message left - this is US Bank Home Mortgage Servicing, please call us at 844-661-6097.

While I did recently refi with them, I gave them strict instructions on no marketing, etc.  So, I called the number on my mortgage statement (totally different number) and verified that they did NOT call me and they have me opted out of all communication.  I then gave her the 844 number and she verified it was NOT one of their numbers.

So, it IS a scam.

Given the amount of paper mail garbage I've gotten since I refinanced, all trying to look like official loan correspondence, I was suspicious.  What I'd like to know is how they got my number.  The home address & name (for the regular junk mail) us public record, unfortunately.  But I pay for a non-pub phone number, so they shouldn't have the bank name tied to the phone number to scam with.  Makes me quite angry.

People who try to scam seniors deserve to be tortured.

They said they'd call back later.  I really do think this is a scam

"I know who called me but I'm going to look up the number anyway." Is that about how it went?
By the way, just because a # is legit for you doesn't mean it is for anyone else since scammers tend to spoof legitimate numbers.

Verified Scam. they left a voicemail saying call back at the scam number or visit "usbankhomemortgage(dot com)" "The website "usbankhomemortgage(dot com)" isn't owned by us bank, but it does redirect to the us bank site as an attempt to legitimize the phone number. The phone number "844-661-6097" is not a us bank phone number.

Could you explain how you arrived at the fact that website is not owned by US Bank. Whois info indicates that it is. It would seem strange for a scam website to redirect to the actual company. What would be the point?

Called US Bank number (1-800-872-2657). Their response was "we would never call you and ask for personal information (like the last 4 digits of SS# this lady asked for)".

They also checked their phone registry and no phone number resembling this is part of their system.

I don't normally answer calls from phone numbers I don't recognize, but this showed up on the caller ID as US Bank Mortgage and we just bought a house that will be serviced by US Bank, so I answered. I was still suspicious and wasn't planning to offer them any information because it's weird to be getting a phone call like that. My previous mortgage servicers have never called me. Didn't matter because there was no response after I said Hello and then the call ended after a couple of seconds. Definitely a scam.

They called and attempted to get the last 4 digits of my social right off top. I said "No way. How do I know this is US Bank?" She then gave me a DIFFERENT  1-800 to call. So naturally I got on here to verify it was a scam. This stuff is getting out of hand!!! She was calling me to "Welcome" me to US bank home mortgage.

I got a call yesterday and say hello but no response. She called again the next day I didn’t pick up. I call  back and she pick up and say welcome to US Bank home mortgage. Can I have you loan number?
