EOS is a collection agency.  Any collection agency who threatens jail is committing a criminal offence.  It is called "extortion" pay or you will go to jail.  Once criminal action is put into play cease all communication and report the person and company to police or contact a lawyer or contact Consumer and Corporate Affairs.  Now here is the thing EOS, MJR, CVB are bottom feeders to say the least.  The buy "bad debt" from Rogers, Bell and other creditors for pennies o the dollar then try to collect the whole amount.  After 2 years no one can sue you so there is really nothing the can do.  However, you say this "according to the guidelines governing collection agencies I want all communications conducted in writing, no further calls will be accepted and I want "proof of claim" and guess what they won't have and they calls will stop.

I have a new cell under a new provider and use a landline so do not give out my cell but did notice on my call blocker used by EOS Canada 647-243-9333 so it appears the scammers use several numbers

After you say you are he or she they will need you to verify with birth date address etc.  Done give them that information. Ask them for proof of what they say you owe and to who. Give them a harder time than they give you

I have an 808 credit score with no outstanding debts at all. I continually get these calls on my cell and so I just ignore them. Block the number until they call again with a new number.

This number calls me from time to time, sometimes it's a couple days in a row or other times I won't get a call for awhile then BAM it's them calling again. They leave voicemails saying EOS Canada then mention an ext number & file number. My husband says it's a scam because from my knowledge & his I have no debt. So beyond annoyed getting these phone calls!

Call daily on an issue that possibly is 10 plus years old for a Canadian mobility company in which I have never had an account!!! Ahh BLOCKED

More scumbags destined to burn in hell for trying to steal money from honest people.  Don't worry, folks.  There is a real life after death and an accounting for such sleezy subhumans.  Are they going to get a big surprise when the Grim Reaper comes for them.  LOL.

Got a call again this morning from a computer female voice (844-809-5490) again to voicemail and message started in middle "stating this is 2nd attempt to clearup an urgent matter or I will be arrested and to call this number before the magistrate puts out a order to arrest me"  Doesn't state what it is for or who it is for or who is calling.  Plus I received that EXACT SAME message yesterday from number 877-870-2070 same female voice SAME EVERYTHING. Just different number

I had Virgin mobile for 1 day 6 years ago and the collection agency called me they were intimidating all kinds of scammers.  I have never not paid a bill.  I wish the cops were more into Cyber crimes which is the highest growing crimes and it is coming from big companies too.  They use intimidating tactics they sent me a letter so I called them Virgin mobile must be desperate for $.  It was $83.84 most companies don't bother sending to collection for under $100 gosh how pathetic.  Richard Branson go figure.  I paid it but, as I don't want them messing with my excellent credit score I got some advise from bankers to just pay them.  Honestly, they that desperate for $83.84 sort of says a lot.

Did you know that is illegal for a bill collector to threaten you with jail? If they do and you are actually behind on a bill, record the message and generally as a settlement the judge will release you from the debt. I learned that from a very good friend of mine that happens to be a debt collector. She was telling me about all the illegal tactics the low life bill collectors use. There are actually ethical bill collectors, btw.

You should get advice from someone who actually knows what they are talking about.  There are no "ethical bill collectors" btw.

Forget them. The ORIGINAL creditor has 2 years to sue. Never give collectors ANY information. The 2 years applies to Ontario.

I supposed that is wonderful if you happen to live in Ontario but what about all the people that live in other Provinces?  Why didn't you provide information for them as well?

I get them daily , when I answered they kept asking for someone who doesn’t live here, told them to lose my number but they are still at it, I got the number blocked but they still call but only one ring comes in , it’s so annoying
