The caller accuses me of tax fraud and requests that I follow up by calling a different number (which I did not record unfortunately).

Received a call today claiming to be from Canada Revenue Tax Fraud and Crimes looking for a relative who supposedly committed tax fraud.  Gave me his supposed full name,  badge number, address of physical location etc.  However I know people at Revenue Canada and he was breaking all the rules so I new if was a fraud.  I believe that he was a collection agency looking for someone.
Called Revenue Canada to confirm that this is not a government number and it was not.

This is a total scam.  Do not call back and if you do, do not give your name.  Any call from Canada Revenue will have CRA displayed as the number.  Also you can call back the general CRA number as if there is an issue with your account they will know and will direct you to the correct number.

Received a call from 844-850-3567 today.  I was out but my call display gave this number and a message about tax fraud.  Since I have ALWAYS used a professional tax accountant to do my taxes (and I am in Canada), I know this to be an ABSOLUTELY fraudulent call.

Yup,  I got the same call,  CRA doesn't use automated voices. Said they were looking for me for months and months.  LOL,  they know where i live.   This is a scam for sure.

The first clue that this is a scam is that it's an electronic voice which says he is calling from "Canadian" Revenue Agency, and then suggests that you or your designated attorney call the number.  "Attorney" is more of an American term.  Then he goes on to insult you by suggesting that you protect your reputation by doing the right thing, etc.  Think twice and then don't return the call.

I have had several calls from "Canadian Revenue Agency" that leave messages on our phone to call back, urgent info about tax.
I phoned this number today and was told I was being accused of tax fraud from the years 2008-2011. I asked who he was looking for, he gave my name, which I verified.  When I asked for more information he told me a letter would be coming in 48 hours and hung up on me. Tried to call the number back and was hung up on 2 more times.
So frustrating. Will be calling my local RCMP.

Received call and message from this number also. Convinced me I was in grave position with Revenue Canada, I gave visa number. Immediately checked this site and realized my mistake!!!!! Cancelled visa immediately before any charges placed on it. How rotten! They used the names John MacLean and Frank Martin!!! Reporting. Also suggested I pay cash at J and Jenna Convenience store on Park Rd South in Oshawa!!!!!!!!! Reporting

This 'sad' scammer also suggested that I needed to remain a 'good citizen'???  These creeps need to be SHUT DOWN!!!

Recorded message was an american accent re tax fraud and with instructions for me or my attorney to call 844-850-3567.

I gother the voice mail today too and when I called  back he knew my name and stated he is starting legal procedings. I know that this is fraud. I am not  giving any other  information or answering the machine if this number calls.

Nothing about CRA is automated ... they use Canada Post to send bills. If you have established an online account with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) then you can check for yourself if there is an issue. As soon as I heard the robot's voice I hung up. Maybe I should have listened to see if my status as a good Canadian citizen is still intact.

If you want to save your dignity to being good citizen of country, or else, you are the best judge of yourself.

LMAO if they want to be at all believable, have to do better than this.  Learn to speak like you didn't just stumble off the boat you dumb ****.

Received a call from this number today. It was a voice mail message saying the same thing as above comments
I called back and I found it weird he was using my husband's family name. I never use my husband's family name. When I told the guy I worked for the government, he immediately hung up on me and each time I call the number back, it hangs up. Canada Revenue confirmed to me this was a scam! Grrrrrr....

Had a recorded message call from 1 844 850 3567, saying they were calling from CRA (Canada Revenue Service). As the voice was heavily accented, couldn't make out everything that was said, other than the gist being that I was in trouble  with the CRA for fraud. I called the number back and spoke to a man from India/Pakistan. He insisted on getting my name. I refused. He said if I didn't give my name I was to hang up, as they had thousands of other calls to take. Told him I was going to call the police. He told me to go ahead and they will put me in jail. I was initially worried, but 1) everything regarding my taxes etc; are fine, and 2) if it was the CRA calling, they would have had all my personal information

I got a phone message from Canada Revenue Agency (fake) indicating that someone had reported my name for tax fraud.  I simply ignored the call.  I got such a call before which I picked up.  The voice told me the same story, and wanted to know my Social Security Number to make sure he was talking to the correct person.  For sure!  I said I would call CRA back and they gave me this same number.  However, I called CRA at their official number (not easy to find by the way), and I was informed that they did not have a problem, and had heard of this fraudulent number in the past.  I left it at that.
