Asked me how I got there number and told them was called with a case number and to call back to verify the status. When called back they said I was to be served with papers, and I told them I haven't been served with any papers, proceeded to ask questions and the phone kept cutting in and out and when asked how they got my social security and said I had a bank card delinquent and a judgement was being filed against me and I told them I didn't have the bank card they were saying I had I proceeded to ask more questions which they would address so I hung up on them.

- Greg"Hi this message is for .. my name is Meghan I am calling you to discuss a matter that has been forwarded for consideration of legal action, including the filing of a lawsuit or complaint with the court, if you have any questions or concerns in regards to this pending legal matter you will need to contact your representative that is handling this case in the legal department at 844-886-2437 and reference your file number .. Thank you and good luck to you."
First of all if this really is a legal company they will last all of ten minutes before someone gets disbarred. Second of all, Meghan you are a total [***] with that 'Good luck to you' at the end.
Just whatever you do don't call these people back who knows what sort of skulduggery they will stoop to. - CThey keep calling my family members asking for me. I know I don't have any collections but I pulled my report to be sure. 780 FICO. Nothing wrong with my bills/cards/etc but they insist on slandering my name by spreading this whole 'complaint to court' nonsense to my relatives. Some of them are worried for me. Please file some sort of class action against these fraudsters.
- CourtneyThey just contacted my mother and asked her for my current address in order to serve me with some legal paperwork. They said they are A-1 Courier and were hired by A.S.S. They told her to have me contact them at 844-886-2437 and gave her a file # to forward to me as well.
- Caller: A-1 Courier
- Call type: Debt collector
- HECTOR2| 3 repliesSo, i checked them out too.
They are not a law firm, and not a mitagation firm (?) whatever that is.
They are however a litigation firm. Meaning they offer a last minute resolution to outstanding debt or judgement before it goes to court.
Litigation firms are registered with the secretary of state, and must be registered to access your ss#. Pretty legit.
If you have an outstanding debt, pay it.
If you're running from your past debts, keep adding to this posted website.
Nevertheless, my research has shown that this ph# goes to a legit firm who can actually help you. Otherwise your debt goes to a 10 yr judgement. Can't turn back then .. .. .. ..- Caller: 844-886-2437

Since you know so much about the caller, how about telling us their full, legal name; their website, and their BBB page (if any).
Lurkers:
A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:
* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]
Source:
https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection
Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via Green Dot, MoneyGram, Western Union, prepaid gift card or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.
IF you wish to communicate with the supposed collector / creditor, visit the following page, for example "Action Letters" to snailmail:
http://www.consumerfinance.gov/blog/debtcollection/
If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:

- HECTOR2 replies to SlimTheir afs, (not a.S.S. Some idiot wrote earlier), what their “full” name is, i could care less. If you want to know, pick up the phone and find out yourself.
I happen to know they’re at one wilshire blvd, in los angeles. So, go ahead and come up with another reason not to pay your bills……..
And you’re confusing collection agency with a litagation firm.
Like their close cousin, the law firm, its unlikely they’ll have a website or bbb listing. Ha! (really?!?!). But again, you can find our when you call them yourself. - sue| 1 replyI got a call also. Looking at these posts it seems that they just starting calling people in Sept.
- yeah rightleft message saying I had a pending case and I had to call the office and gave a case number.
- Caller: brian bennett
- KimThey contacted my brother in which I never talk to. They said they were going to send a summons to his home that is hours from me..seriously?? I've received nothing by mail..
- Eomelly| 1 replyThese people are to much. They tracked down 2 of my family members threatening I have at the end of day to response or else. I don't even know the company's name.
- BigA replies to EomellyThis is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number. Now why would a “process server” want to do you, a stranger, a favor, and at the same time not get paid to deliver the papers?
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

The callers name was Brittany, very pissy attitude. I called back and no response. I haven't received "anything" in the mail. This is total BS! There is a special place in hell for people like this.
