- PaulThese morons keep calling me looking for another person. I am told to contact the person they are looking for to remove my number from their system. How stupid are they? I don't even know the other person.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Jz824| 1 replyI just got a call from this number
855-225-0282
First they were mentioning that they are to deliver served papers for court and that I should call the number for more details. - Ethoe replies to Jz824yeah i got the same thing saying they're trying to deliver certify court documents to me. Can anyone else shed some light on this?
- ConnorCan anyone shed some light on this? I heard that there's this scam going on that people will do this and if you call back that # you will automatically be charge 100 or so on your bill. Kind of like those adult lines nothing you can do about it to get your $ back. PLEASE SHARE IF THIS IS SOME SCAM OR IF THERE'S ANY TRUTH TO THEIR MESSAGE
- Derek JohnsonCalled to say they were trying to deliver certified documents from Andrei Scvenko. I called back and they said "Corporate Offices"... not hello, or what corporate office...just "Corporate offices"
- BethGot a call from this number looking for a family member to serve them court papers. Thought it was weird that they called me because who they were looking was not a immediate family member. Gave me a case number too.
- gidgetJust another bogus scammer! trying to squeeze money out of unsuspecting honest folks! Just ignore the calls, I do! I get repeated calls saying the same thing, investigator so and so has papers on his desk that are going to be filed in my local court. If they were legit you would be getting a notice from your local court not a stupid phone call leaving threatening messages!
- Call type: Debt collector
- johnJust got a call from this number which came up unknown on my caller ID, they left a very vague message saying they had some official certified documents that they needed to get to me, and wanted to schedule a time for me to collect them, made it sound like a service to appear in court, but i dont have anything in Debt collections that i know of, so its probably a scam. Also they didnt say what company they were with. If there trying to serve me papers then send it certified mail, idiots.
- Caller: didnt say
- alseems that they get the number from hacking a persons phone list. then they call EVERYONE on that list phishing for a sucker. they called me and left a voice message saying i'll be issued a subpoena if I don't call. one time I actually talked to the operator, I chewed her out and told her to send the subpoena, she hung up, then my daughters phone rang, same "unknown" number so I immediately started chewing out the woman asking her where's my subpoena!! they stopped calling for about 6 months, now (march 10th, 2014) those numbers are starting again, same exact wording as 6 months ago, calling my two girls again, and even my brother's brother-in-law. the number I was told to call back was -0280, it's all the same scam.
- CHARLES| 1 replyI got contacted from this number the other week, they were asking for me to verify my information. I thought it was strange because of what they were saying, but in the end it turned out that I really did have some pending court issues. They had mentioned that they had tried to contact me and I never heard anything. I told them to mail out the paperwork, again I was wrong because apparently you have to hand deliver certified paperwork, you have to show them it's you when you sign for the documents.
- AnyaCall me at 8:13 AM. A woman leaved Msg, said she from the court but no case #. Idiot. But better than those people said they from IRS. (IRS will mail you a letter first).
- XarxiThey even texted different numbers of some friends left them a voice message about some certified documents or court papers to call the firm back and that you have been notified. My computer laptop HP also has been hacked I only have minimal anti virus from microsoft cause my nephew just helped me get it started I haven't had the chance to get a strong anti virus and the computer screen said they encrypted it with malicious illegal pornography and the computer has been certified. I'm afraid to turn on my laptop now they might invade it some more. I don't know but has anyone experienced something like this yet?
- Caller: 855-255-0282
- CWG40The calls are scams. If you think your computer has been hacked then you might have to take it to a local technician who specializes in cleaning up computers. You might consider getting some serious anti-virus software. Mcfee, super anti-spyware or malwarebyes. These companies are on the net. Use google to look 'em up.

- Jube70Process servers don't make an appt. to serve you papers!! They don't want you to know their coming! Look it up and read about a process servers line of work.
Debt collectors can only sue you within your states Statue of Limitations. Look up your state and know your facts. If you think there is an issue call your county and ask if there is any pending court case against you. It has to be filed in the county you reside.
This happened to me several years ago and scared me to death until I did my research and got educated. Turns out I didn't even open the account they were threatening me with. Most of these people are Zombie debt collectors who have bought your debt from up to 20 years ago and they will use any tactic they can to get money out of you because they have no leverage on you anymore. It works enough when they scare people so they make some money and will keep trying. If this debt is so old it's dropped off your credit report and you give them any money now they can post the debt again. It's a no win situation. Then you have your scammers who will say this to scare you into paying for a debt you don't owe.
Be aware of what you owe and to whom. Never give anyone banking or credit card info when they call you. Get as much info as you can from them, ask them to mail you proof of the debt and then hang up and research them before agreeing to anything. You can get a free credit report each year from www.annualcreditreport.com check it against anyone calling you. These people are depending on the fact that you don't know your legal rights and will be scared into paying them. If it's legitimate they won't start out by saying they have papers to serve. Be smart and if you can work out a payment plan with any legitimate creditor or collection agency. It will only benefit you in the long run.- Caller: LDA Group

- anon replies to CHARLESWRONG - you do not have to show ID when you get the paperwork. If you *had* pending court issues, you would have received letters prior to being served. Must be yet another shill for the scammers! People - process servers do NOT call you beforehand - they just show up!
- montyThey called and spoke with the human resources person at my husband's work. This really sucks. If they call his work this could get him in trouble. A person named Crystal needs to serve some papers and wants to set up a time to meet with him. I called the number and a deep voice man said "Legal Department"

- Autum| 2 repliesThese people have been calling my job, saying they want to serve me with papers at work. What can I do to get them to stop harassing my place of employment? They have even been harassing the office secretary. I've already asked them to remove the number from their list. Help please.
- Tamianth replies to AutumReal legal servers do not call, they just show up! Calling and harassing your work is part of the extortion scam. You and they should file complaints with the authority's . Your place of employment should also file complaints with their phone service provider and try to get the number blocked or install some call blocking equipment.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
