Called and left the same pre-recorded voice message the past two days. The message did not identify the caller, the company they were representing, nor the purpose of the call. All was mentioned that it was important that I call them back. If this pre-recorded message states that its important for me to return your call, identify yourself or the company!

This phone number keeps calling, finally call back and its BCBS of Illinois insurance company

We also received two or three phone messages saying that it was important to call them back and that it concerned our healthcare insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield. When I returned the call and asked questions, the person said he was a third-party that was gathering information for Blue Cross Blue Shield. When I asked why they needed information that Blue Cross alreay had, he repeated that he was  just a third-party and was gathering information for Blue Cross Blue Shield. I asked how could I possibly know if this is not enough a fraudulent call, he said he had no way of proving this, but he swore he was not an identity thief. I hung up on him and called Blue Cross Blue Shield. They told me they do not have a third-party that gathers information for them. I passed the phone number onto them. Do not give information to this phone number!

They are a telemarketer from a company called RIC.  If you "approve" the boilerplate they read you, you are approving RIC to access your medical records -- NOT BLUE CROSS

Recieved a pre-recorded call from them saying that they have important info reguarding Blue Cross. Sounds Phoney to me considering my Ins agent is my conduit to Blue Cross and he said there are no probplems.  Scam Caller I suspect.

we have gotten sveral calls in the last week from this number. They say they are calling for BlueCrossBlueShield of Illinois about our recent application for insurance. BCBS contact was told this and had no idea what it was about but didn't seem to have any concerns about someone knowing we had just applied through the government exchange.

This is a legit number because I got a email message from their Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois website 5 min. after I hung up the phone thanking me for my time on the phone and going with BCBS. He informed me that I will be getting my new insurance card shortly.

The message says that they are calling on the behalf of Blue Cross Blue Shield and it was important to call them back and that it concerned our healthcare insurance. The key word here is behalf.

I did call the number. They identified themselves as Blue Cross, though the phone message said it was on behalf of Blue Cross, and they just wanted to confirm my information, ask a few questions about wellness, and identify ways to save money on the new plan I signed up for. Immediately after the call I received an email, presumably from Blue Cross, thanking me for the call and once again giving me tips on keeping my medical expenses down. The email was from rsamedical.com, so I'm guessing it is a contractor for Blue Cross.

I believe this is a scam and let call go to voice mail I suggest NOT giving them info or answering when they call!

I got a call and let it go to voicemail. They used the same reference number I received in an e-mail in regards to my new Blue Cross health care. I used the government marketplace to find my health insurance. So I don't know if this is a scam or not, I will be calling Blue Cross directly to get everything paid and started.

3/5/2014: Called me @ 1:50 P.M.; had signed up with BCBS not too long ago myself. Beware of this number.

3/7/2014:  I got a call from this number.  They indicated they are calling "in behalf" of BCBS.  I would be very cautious.

OMG I just call bcbs of IL and the 3 dept had no idea what i was talking about. said they didn't call me. one of the managers said that healthcare.gov leaked some numbers and people got spam calls awhile ago, but not from bcbs

If you get a call from 1-855-233-8353 or any other one they are using. They will say that they are trying to get ahold you to talk to you about your healthcare insurance. They don't say who they are but they know your name and phone number when they leave a message. They will tell you to call them at that number and they tell you to tell them the reference # they leave on your voice mail. DON'T CALL IT!!  Don't use that number, use the one one your insurance card.. I called our health BCBS and they said it wasn't them. They didn't know anything about an reference # and they didn't call me. I looked up online and it is a scam. They are a 3rd party thing just trying to get your information, They say that they were hired to get this information for them. It is a LIED. BCBS never hires an third party to get your information. DON'T ANSWER THEIR CALL!!
