Husband got call  telling him to call this number sounded like a bill collector.  Stated he had one opportunity to call them back and listed a claim number, stated he had been "Notified".  Number shown on his phone that was calling in was 512-808-0576.  I called the 512 number and a gruff angry sounding male voice had a  message on it, as follows "Investigation Department do not leave a message."  Sounds like a scam debt collector to me.

I am getting call from 901-8604142 telling me to call 855-244-8597. Did you talk to anyone?

Thats what happened when I called the number back... I believe its all a scam.. Some lady trying to scared me into giving her my address. tell me to call that number and I've been notified

No, we did not talk to anyone.  The manner in which these people leave their messages shows me they are not a legitimate company.  They do not identify themselves, or their company.  They call and attempt to frighten, or bully people into compliance from what I can hear on the recordings.  I can find no business associated with this number in the reverse directories, all they show is it is based here in Texas.  If it looks like a duck, acts like a duck, and quacks like a duck it probably is a duck guys, and this looks, acts, and feels like a group of scam artists.

I received a call that appeared to be from a local number and they gave me 855-244-8597 to call back. She said her name was Amy White and she needed to verify my home address and employment address immediately and that I would have one chance to clear this up before the claim was taken further. She was extremely rude and hateful just on the voice message. Called me 4 times in a row and I am sorry I do not answer numbers that I do not know who they are.

I just received a call from a local number 615.229.5611 asking me to verify my address to be served with my "claim information". I asked what claim information and the guy identified himself as Rick Davis stated that someone had filed a claim against me, and again asked for my home address to receive my claim information. I asked who he was with and what the claim was for and he asked "Do you not know what I'm talking about?" (DUH!) and said he had no information because he was just a "locator" then gave me the 855.244.8597 with a claim number. I called and an Adriana answered. I explained that I had been contacted by a guy who said he wanted to deliver claim information, he gave me this number along with a claim number. She took the claim number and verified my identity by confirming a previous address then advised me that I owed a debt to an online loan company called SMS Group. I informed her that I paid that debt two years ago and she asked if I had a Paid in Full letter which I do in the form of a saved email. Adriana asked that I read off the information to her over the phone so she could give it to her boss to which I replied that I am at work and being on my phone at my desk isn't permitted but I would be happy to forward the email to her. She stated she doesn't have an email (Really? How does a legitimate business in the 21st century not have an email?). So I asked if I could just speak to her boss since she said he needed the information. "He's in a meeting" she told me, "Just call us back when you are able to talk and we will take the information. Until then we will have the locator continue processing your information to serve you with the papers." At this point, I am getting suspicious because this is the SIXTH company who has contacted me about this exact debt since it has been paid and I am reluctant to just give my information to someone who is being so secretive with theirs. I called the number back and I got Adriana again. So I asked for her last name which she declined as well as whether or not they were registered with the Better Business Bureau, and their physical address other than that they are located in California (not even a P.O. Box). At first I thought it was possible that they really were attempting to collect this debt that has already been settled because the company I paid hasn't reported it as such as Adriana stated...now I have my doubts based on the (lack of) information they are offering to clear this matter up.

JUST GOT THE SAME CALL FROM A MELISSA JOHNSON CALLS ME FROM 1-267-293-6345 ASKING TO VERIFY MY ADDRESS AND TO CALL 1-855-244-8597 I CALLED THE FIRST NUMBER BACK AND I GOT THE ANGRY GUY VOICEMAIL "THIS IS INVESTIGATOR REPORTS PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE!!!" THIS SAME WOMAN CALLED MY PHONE ON FRIDAY AND WOULD NOT TELL ME WHAT THIS IS ABOUT. I CALLED 1-855-244-8597 AND IT WAS MIDWEST THEY HAD ME ON HOLD FOR 3 MIN AND I HUNG UP SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM TO ME

A FRAUD - PLEASE BEWARE ----- Just received a call from 281 845 8927 someone stating that his name was Justin, telling me to call 855 244 8597and gave me a claim number. I agree with the others that have received these type of calls, THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE COMPANY.  I called the local number back and got a message "this is the investigation department please hang up do not leave a message".  My advise is not to call the 1-855 number back and do not give these FAKES your information.

For about a week now these stupid people call me on my job phone and ask me the same questions they have been asking and telling everyone else. Yes I think it is a SCAM to these people are STUPID .how can we get them to stop

i got a message on my office phone stating her name was randi king rude message and i had this one time to call and give info of my work & home address to be served (oh yeah like that was going to happen) then game me another to call 855-244-8597, called and got nothing..

Received threatening phone call at my job!! Said I was going to be waged garnished and I do not know what it is about?! Can't find anything about owing money on my credit report now so just thought I'd report it .

Someone called my job from some undisclosed number and asked to speak with my supervisor.  My supervisor was unavailable but was given the number.  She asked me if I knew who this could be and I told her no.  This had me worried because I thought something was wrong.  She told me she called and someone told her that I need to call them at 1-855-244-8597 with a claim number and discuss a matter with them.  This is highly unacceptable and isn't this wrong to do?  I have been tracking unusual things with my credit and contacted the credit bureau about possible identity theft and I really think this call was suspicious and inappropriate.  I am going to call the Credit Bureau as well, or find out more and see if this is against the law.

This is a bill collector out of Texas... They use that phony number system and can put in any number to harass you.  JUst make it a practice not to answer calls from numbers not programmed in your phone.
