- LOLO| 2 repliesMother received call from these people looking for me so they could "serve me papers".
I called the number back and Roland Deshane asked if I received my papers yet. I said no. He said I owed a credit card company $300 and it accrued 32 % interest so not it would be almost $600. And if I didnt make a payment today, I would have to pay $3000 when they sue me for court cost and attorney fees. He was very abrasive, he would not give me the name of the company he worked for nor would he give me an address. He claimed that they sent papers a month ago and I did not respond. I asked for this information in writing but he refused, he said all the information would be in the packet when I am served legal paper. I won't pay anything I cannot verify, especially if it's a time barred debt. I have reported this number to the CFPB. And soon as I find out their name I will be reporting them to the attorney general.- Call type: Debt collector
- KimThis is some collection agency practicing illegal collection tactics. Report the number to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau http://www.consumerfinance.gov/Complaint/#debt-collection
- CWG40 replies to LOLODumb. Roland Deschain is a character from the Stephen King "Gunslinger" series. Real original on the part of the scammers. Total scam. No legitimate process server calls you up in advance and tells you he or she is coming by. Block these calls and ignore them.
- LoloRedI have reason to believe that this is Temescal Finacial Services or whatever they are calling themselves these days.
From a search on here for 855-251-0541 (accidentally typing the last digit as a 1 instead of a 3), and the experences people have report here from TFS AND their recent inquiry on my credit report a few days ago.

- Bad Mom| 1 replyReceived a call from a third party company asking if Son was home so papers could be delivered to him. Son hasn't lived here for years. Don't even have contact information. Took information in case Son contacted me. Called primary number 855-251-0543. They answered "Head Office". My question: What Company is this? Answer: Summit Recovery Services. Told them to stop the delivery since Son hasn't lived here in years. Then I Googled the telephone number--Ended up on this site. Looked like a scam to me.

- Resident47Process servers do not collect debts for plaintiffs or get involved otherwise in resolving legal disputes. The nature of their job is the surprise visit, not setting appointments. Paying strangers on the phone to shoo away a server is not how real debts are collected by creditors. Rather, that is how extortion for invalid and phantom debt gets done.
"Pay me or get served" is usually an empty threat, in particular when that demand is the first you ever hear of some purported debt claim. Such empty threats are illegal per the FDCPA and similar state laws. When laws they disobey, you must refuse to pay!
Lawful debt collection is a process, not an ambush. Early in that process you must be given a specific notice about your alleged debt and how to dispute it. From there, you have a right to obtain proof of claim *on paper*. Federal law does not expect you to take only the word of strangers on the phone that bad things are about to happen. Do not reward lawbreakers with your money. Challenge them always, sue them if you can.

FTC alert: "Fake Debt Collectors"
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0258-fake-debt-collectors - Resident47 replies to LOLOThe cry of "youse already gots letters from us" is a common ruse among bogus debt collectors. Limiting and denying information is a key weapon for these thugs, which is why the FDCPA demands disclosure from them in so many ways. The fact that you have no dunning letter after allegedly a month is enough for you to launch a real lawsuit. That's before we get to "Roland" lying about that, lying about the amount owed, and trying to scare you with a false lawsuit threat.
- Tom replies to Bad MomYES, it is a scam! Without getting a long story, TOTALLY ignore these stupid AH"s, and the calls will cease.
- Investigative Son| 1 replyThese people are some class act. They scared my mother straight. I had to do research, found out they were bogus and had to calm my mother down. Tha.ks for all the info on this page

- Resident47 replies to Investigative SonYou don't indicate your mother's age, but we can note here that extortionist collectors take special joy in frightening the weakest among us, who tend to be elderly, or a recent immigrant, or lacking education, or some combination thereof. It is pleasing to know when thugs like this are denied their chance to create another victim.
