what did they say to you?

Supposedly a rep from Oakwood Collections, called from a local Voip number in East Texas. Left message with a case number, and callback. Read several complaints on this company/person/people from different numbers. Believe it's a scam.

Rec'd  phone call today from "Private Locator" Janet Williams telling me that imperative that I call this 855# (855/251-1441) and reference Cl# 1510098.  When I called, they said they were a small legal processing company out of So. Calif. they wouldn't tell me exactly where, they were called "Oakwood" and I was in very serious trouble. I was then asked if I lived at a specific address and when I replied "NO", they needed me to give either my birthdate or last 4 #'s of my SS.  When I said, " Do you seriously think I am that stupid?  You're calling from a call center and trying to get info to either make purchases illegally or scam the consumers".  They hung up on me.

The second call came later this afternoon, pretty much the same spiel.  Guess they didn't succeed on the first call and would try again...............I ticked the 2nd one off even more.  He too, got flustered and hung up on me.

Rule #1"  NEVER, NEVER GIVE YOUR PHONE # OR SS # TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they call my husband cell asking for someone that doesn't have that number
