- Christina| 1 replyWeird calls with no message left. When j picked up, a beep and then a person asked for me by my full name( including last). I did not confirm but merely asked who they were. But they refused to say. That's when I hung up

- buttercup76I got a phone call from this company for my husband.. The phone call was very muffled, and hard to hear.. Every-time I asked what company was calling there would be a short beep that would block me from hearing the company's name.. After asking the company's name 3-4 times without understand who it was, I simply said : I am sorry I cannot hear you, your are blocking the company's name deliberately, do not call back, and I hung up.. No legit company would have to bleep out there identity..
- Caller: unknow
- Nick| 1 replyThey called me multiple times. Once I picked up on accident thinking it was a police officer I was trying to contact calling me back, but unfortunately it wasn't. Like a previous poster said, the call was very muffled, similar to hearing sounded come out of your mouth underwater, and also there was this annoying beeping sound that was short and singular that would happen every 10 seconds or so. Very annoying.
Anyways, since no one else has commented about what exactly it is they were talking about, I'll say. It was what I assume to be "debt collectors" for Amazon. They wanted to offer me a payment plan to pay back my remaining balance without all the additional charges that accrued for it being late for almost 2 years (my bad). Now it sounded nice. I basically owed $1,000 dollars and they wanted to get me on a plan to pay $39 now, then increasing increments for the next 6 months until I paid only a total of around $275.
Of course I was interested, even though I was regretful of picking up the phone. The thing was, the caller kept asking me for my bank information to pay for the $39. I didn't want to do that and I asked if I could call later. She(an Indian women) kept spewing some company policy stuff at me that I could barely hear, and I just asked her to send me an email. She would not. I asked her when the last payment was received and she told me last February(not from me which I found odd). Lastly I asked her where that payment was made and she said she can't divulge customer information on the phone. Yet you can ask me for my bank information on the phone which I'm clearly not comfortable giving?
After about 10 minutes of this crap, she eventually asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. I said sure, she put me on hold, which had the annoying muffled sound and beeping still, and then I just hung up before anyone picked up. This just happened today.
I can't tell if it's legitimate or not. I feel like they have real information of mine from Amazon, but I also feel like they are going about collecting it in a very unprofessional way with the guise of professionalism given through their rhetoric on their plans. Seems [***] to me.- Call type: Debt collector
- Dubbs CheckumSynchrony bank for Amazon, or a (very poor quality [read: cheap slave labor]) subcontractor of Synchrony bank phone farm. Refuse to identify or give location/business information. Very quiet, nearly unintelligible, broken english, reading from a script with beeps seeming to be censoring out certain words during the conversation.
- Caller: Synchrony bank

- Allison| 1 replyThey call about 4 times a day every day. I usually dont answer but one time i did and i didnt get very far. When i asked who they were calling for and at what numbwr, they told menthey coy ldnt give me any details. When i pushed further they finally said they were teying to reach a phone number i didnt recognize, nor was it mine. It was a toyally different state even. It was very shady and i told them not to call again. They stopped for a bit then began calling again, this time more frequently. Still not sure what they wanted.
- Caller: Gen Pac services?
- BigA replies to AllisonThe name of the company is Genpact. Seems a bit shady. Their website has no address on it. Whois says that they are located in India, or at least that is where the site is registered. Bizapedia.com has them as a Delaware corporation. They offer a lot of stuff including collections. In any case, I would file reports on them with the CFPB and your State AG. I will try to dig up more on them so stop back in a couple of days.

- Jane replies to ChristinaSame thing just happened to me. The guy had an accent from India but was lying to me about his name, using a fake American name, and insisting to know my name. He kept saying he was from "Gen Pack Services" but refused to tell me what that is, and just kept asking me to confirm my name. Creepy. I hung up on him, too.
- Emily Dain McKnightI get these calls 4 times a day. However, I've paid Amazon/Synchrony off fully. Leave me alone!
- Lily| 1 replyYes, definitely GenPact, debt collectors from Amazon credit services, aka Synchrony Bank. They won't tell you anything. I would suggest you don't tell them anything, either! Just block them. They don't ever go away.
