I continue to get Unknown calls on my cell phone and my parents keep getting them at home on their landline from a man who has claimed to be a few different people - Michael Spencer and Rory Thomas are two of the names he has used. He leaves messages that it is my legal right to contact them back to resolve a bad check they claim is my responsiblity to resolve however I have had no bad check and have researched this company only to find that they appear to be a phishing scam.
When I called back the first time I received a message I was given this number to call: 855-257-0389. The man I spoke to said his name was Elijah and that they were going to process serve me for a bad check or something related to an alleged pay day loan that they accused me of trying to take out online/on the internet that I owed them money for. I was worried that someone had stolen my identity so I asked this Elijah for an address to the company he claimed to be from so I could have my attorney contact them - he wouldnt provide an address, nor would be provide any legitimate information about who this company was and how to deal with the issue.  He grew hostile with me, spoke over me and continued to threaten. What scares me is that he had the last four digits of my SSN which was very disconcerting. After being put on hold I called back and he answered by a different name. I ended up telling this person that I thought this was a terrible scam and to stop calling me and harrassing me. The company has continued to call and leave threatening messages to me since. The numbers the company has left as a contact are 855-261-7352, 855-257-0389 and 888-450-8518 - This place is awful and a total scam. I have filed an official complaint with the FTC and filed a police report with local officials.
