I received two calls today within a couple of hours from same number.  I did not answer either of the calls and he left the same message both times. Claimed he was with the Social Security Administration and that my name and SS# has been linked to criminal activity.  I needed to call him back.  I did not call back.

Caller said ihe was from the Social Security administration and I need to call them because there was a claim against me from a rental car agency. And please call back at this number it is urgent.

Scam! The Social Security Administration doesn't initiate contact by phone but by US mail. Block and ignore such calls.

This is a scam.  You can report this number to the real social security office for your state.  The fake caller will change their phone number in a day or two and try to get you to give them your s.s. #.  Do NOT give out under any circumstances.  Legitimate businesses you have a professional relationship with (your bank, Doctor, phone service, etc.) will already have that info.  These crank calls especially try to intimidate senior citizens and scare them with threats of jail, arrest or some other lie about fraudulent use of their personal information.  DON'T believe them!

The [***] left a message that I was under investigation for criminal activity. I want to introduce him to my Mossberg 12 guage 8-shot pistol grip shot gun!

Said the same thing, they were a Marshall with the social security office.
