Belongs to Nationwide Litigation, aka Nationwide, aka Nationwide Pre-Litigation, an evasive collections company, one of many purchasing old receivables for pennies on the dollar.  Their standard approach is to employ "independent locators" to contact debtors and their family members.  The "locators"  claim that they have been employed by a client to verify the debtor's address so that a claim or case may be presented to the debtor.  Pseudo-legal language is used to alarm the debtor.  The debtor is urged to call the unidentified client to work out a "last chance" settlement.

Of course this approach is simply to place the debtor in the proper state of mind for a quick  decision to make payment.

Nationwide operates under several names, uses many different telephone numbers, and refuses to provide basic information such as business location or even names of parties involved.

When dealing with this company understand that they operate on the fringe of legality and that they rely upon bluster and intimidation. Their sole purpose is to extract a payment, any payment.  They are profitable because their cost to purchase debts is extremely low and because some debtors pay.  If your "case" has falen into their hands it's because the original creditor has written the debt off.

Make no decision without first understanding your rights and their responsibilities under the law.

I would like for these people to stop harassing me at my place of work. It does not look good when my supervisor leaves me message saying, someone called me and said for me to call this number because I have filed a claim. I have not filed a claim with you so please stop harassing me.
