It is a sales call even though they'll say it's not. They're selling service upgrades. And can only speak "to the authorized signor on the account."

called and stated the same as above...I asked to speak to a manager after she "confirmed" that this was not a sales call and was asked to please put us on their do not call list...she stated that a manager was not available, I then told her that I would like a name and # of a manager to speak with...put me on hold (at their expense) for 12 minutes, and then we were then disconnected.   Again at their expense.

American Express calling our business to offer a "premier"  merchant loan, based on our merchant history with AmEx. No thanks! The LAST place we would get a loan from is a credit card company.

Received a call, same as 1st note left, would only speak to authorized signer.  He said it was regarding "a financial development on our Amex Merchant Account".  I asked several times if this was a sales call and "Ernest" said no.  I asked if there was a problem with our account, and he said he could only speak with an authorized signer.  I told him I would be checking out the phone number he gave me.

This is the direct line for American Express Merchant Financing. The purpose of the call is to discuss eligibility and interest in capital financing. As a merchant it is an opted in feature as a American Express Merchant which occurred at the time of the start up of the merchant account.

The call accomplishes two functions for both the merchant and American Express.
1. Verification of the authorized person for the ACCOUNT. OFTEN THE PERSON OINITAILLY DESIGNATED AS THE AUTHORIZED PERON AT ACCOUNT CREATION IS NOT WITH THE COMPANY, DECEASED OR HAS NOT BEEN SELF REPORTED TO American express.
2.Provison of new information regarding the eligibility of merchant financing. Over 1.5 Billion has been loaned in 2016 to merchants with this service.

The program is an eligibility for commercial financing from American Express Merchant Financing based on the merchants 12 month rolling card volume and elite status of being one of the best tier merchants.
The program offers a flat fee, not interest rate short tem loan fro business needs only. No compounding or variable interest rate, No extra fees for any reason. No fees or penalty for early payback and easy repayment options.

I don't know if this a legit #, but I do have an AMEX Loan for my business.  Believe it or not they offer this best interest I have come across.

Tiffany Morgan called from this number. the caller id showed toll free number. how am I supposed to know if this is a legit call from American express when the caller id says "Toll Free" and there are a lot of scam calls using toll free numbers. also, when i asked her to verify the account number by giving me the last four numbers, she could not and told me that she was only authorized to speak to the account holder. I am not going to transfer this phone call to my boss, whom is very busy when it is just going to be a sales pitch.

Shawntelli Williams with American Express said she needed to speak to person authorized with American Express accounts.  I told her he was busy and she said it was important to call 855-298-1209 x 90955

Ryan Pink, purportedly from American Express, called from this number and asked for one of the principals at the company I work for, badly mangling her name. He claimed to be working on a project with her and actually left a message asking her to call him when informed she was out of the office.
