- Tired of Scammers| 1 replyThis person named "Sandra Graham" called my cell phone, and then called my sister's cell phone looking for me. I called her back, and told her I was tired of their games, i've had repeatedly asked for "verification" of this debt, to which they want me to tell them my social security #, and dob. Well, lets see, my number showed up on her caller ID, and she had my name, but she couldn't "verify" my information? Documented this as another incident for when I sue these people. They keep using the name "URG" but have many different phone numbers that I can't seem to verify if you call URG directly with their main number.

- BigA replies to Tired of ScammersIf they talked to you, then that is first contact and they are required to do the following by law:
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I have been getting automated calls from another number as well claiming to be the same debt collector. I have no debts so it's safe to say this is a scam.
