Called me stating her name was Stephanie from UCRB and that I had some unpaid loan. Threatened to call my parents/grandparents if I didn't pay. Told her my wallet was stolen a few months ago with all my info in it and that if there was a loan under my name it was fraud. She then demanded the police case number from the report. My credit report doesn't show that I have any collections out against me, I can't find anything out about the company UCRB anywhere online. I'm not sure if this is some scam attempt or something.

Phone calls are not an official notification of debt.   The 855 area code is also  loaded with scammers.  Demand written proof of the debt that is MAILED to you...nothing else.

This number called my daughter and told her I had two bounced checks and their client was taking me to court! He left this number, I called it today. Supposedly it was a online loan not paid. I have record of it paid. He would not send me any written notice of who original debt was coming from. I have received nothing in mail or calls from any debt collectors, but I have to pay today! He said he could try to talk to his client, but they want to take me to court! ( for $926 ) If I pay them right now it could clear it. I believe they are trying to get me to pay on something I already paid off! Nasty man I talked to.. Grrr

Criminals masquerading as debt collectors attempt to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged (they use the bad check or hot check claim a lot) and go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished without actually being sued or going to court, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.  They will use the words “Mediator”, “Arbitrator”, or “Law Office” to make you believe that they are something other than a debt collector want-a-be and that they don’t have to follow Federal and State collection laws.  They do have to follow those laws, but they won’t.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.

He means you're being scammed. If this were real they'd give you a written bill stating the debt and to whom it was owed. Until you get a written bill it's just people screaming at you on the phone.

The proper response to threatening phone calls is: do not speak, do not listen, do not press 1, hang up, don't answer again, never call back and block the number.

THis is most likely some sort of debt collection scam.  In any event:

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

When I said my bank he stubble around and said well I don't have the company name and address I'm just the representative he put me on the phone with his 'manger' and he told me well they brought the debt from a company called nova and gave me a 305 851 2296 number. I asked for mailed docs he kept saying yes that's fine I can email it or fax. I stated it had to be mailed he kept saying on that fine and we'll this account is in the red zone. I told him I need doc and addresses to verify everything. He told me if I was to search online I would see 3 usrb online that were bad but oh that's not us. A LOT of stubbling around and calls transferred. I'll call my lander and ask them Who they sold the debt to if they even did!

Don't waste anymore time on these people. The con-man's #1 trick is to make you come to them, to make you think the conversation is your idea. By continuing with them you're running a scam on yourself.

When "The guy stubble around and said who needed it," he identified himself as a liar and thief. When he instructs you to call 305 851 2286 he's sending you to another scam outfit as his credentials (check the number here and you'll see.) When one known thief uses another known thief as reference, that's all you need to know.

Called and said that my loan company has threatened to garnish my paycheck, as well as, 2016 income tax return. Unfortunately, I gave the gentleman named "Scott Thompson" a pre paid money which was immediately cancelled, and a new pre paid money card was sent. Again, "Scott Thompson" called again saying the old card had insufficient funds. I stated to the gentleman, that I have spoken to the loan company, and that the account was sold to another agency. He named two companies, but I did not state the correct company he wished to know. This "Scott Thompson" wanted me to speak to his supervisor, I explained, that I have taken care of the matter with my loan company. In that conversation, he replied, "I don't believe you, you're a lier, you're a lier, you're lying..." I hung up the phone. Later, another gentleman repeated the same remarks, and threatened me with court precedings, I replied, "Then I will wait for the summons, and have a loan company representative with me." He threatened to call three times a day.
