automated call. Called the number back, a very loud, agressive southern man answered stating its a debt collection company. He then began to TELL (not ask) me my name, date of birth, ssn, even the last digits of my drivers license and stated he was attempting to collect a debt for a $500 payday loan from 2017 (it's 2025 now) that now is $2,200.00. Then he demanded me to acknowledge this information. I stated nope. Never had any type of loan such as that. Plus added if he had my number then send me written proof, and that he should have my address. The guy kept interrupting, but as soon as I told him to cease communication and all calls, he hung up. Besides this harrassment, it bothers me that he had all of my personal information, to include my ssn, date of birth and driver's license number.

The fact that you couldn't interrupt "him" suggests it may have been a chat bot, not a live person.  I ran into a few of these when doing call backs to unknown numbers.  Also looks like a phony debt collection scam.

Report the attempt to:
1) your state attorney general’s office
2) the Federal Trade Commission
3) the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
