Received a popup warning message on my IPad with a Microsoft logo from instantalertsystem.net stating that my computer would be locked up and I would lose all my personal info unless I called 1-855-393-4809 within 5 minutes to receive instructions from technical support to prevent it.could not locate a company with this web URL nor any adverse records for this phone #. Suspect it was a scam for bogus PC support.

I had this too through a link that I clicked for a whatsapp link. Not sure but I ended task on it and nothing has happened so far. Haven't called the number yet.

I called the number on a LAN line and it was for a company named Arges Technologies

Scam company that locks your browser then gets you to call them called them up and called them a scammer I suggest anyone will free time just call and berate them for being scammers.

This toll free number will show up on websites that claim your machine is infected and offer to "fix" it if you call them and pay them money. Do not fall for this kind of crap.
