- Concerned| 1 replyI got a message from a John Zimmerman saying the same thing that I have read on other phone numbers like this one with the last two digits being only slightly off as 3352 or 3355. He said that he had documents that had already been filed and wanted to meet me some where to "serve" me with these docutments. He then threatened that if I did not call him back he would then proceed to contacting me at my place of work or home. He tried to make is sound official with a "case number" that doesn't even match anything that my county uses and left this number for me to contact. You can hear others talking in the background and he calls from a blocked number so that you cannot trace him. He doesn't leave a company name, direct contact number and even told me to call the "plantiff" listed on his paperwork and then leaves this toll free number to call back. This is a threat to try to scare you into calling them. I spent time checking my credit report and my local county's website for court documents both with the number given and by my name. Both came up with nothing matching any of his claims. I have had another debt collector call me years ago telling me he had the county attorney's office on hold if I refused his demands! Just be careful not to give them any information to any caller whom you do not know!

- Concerned? Me TooI just hung up from a call just as described above, for my daughter, by a man claiming to be a "Patrick Bateman"... could have sworn he said Davis the first time and felt like he changed it when he repeated it back when I asked to confirm. He gave same speech about a case number and how she had 24 hours to contact him back... omitted company name until I insisted, to which he replied "Shadow Creek" and when I pressed for more on the name, he said "ummm, Associates... Shadow Creek Associates", but it sounded a lot like he was plucking the word "associates" from the air.
While he attempted to come across as a calm-mid-40-ish, mild-mannered, old-school sounding gentleman, I still heard what sounded like boiler-room voices on other calls in the background. He asked me to repeat all the information back to him (I did) and insisted I make sure she got the information as soon as possible, reminding me of the 24 hr deadline.
As soon as I hung up,, I googled the name of the company he claimed it was, his name, and the phone number. The list of "Shadow Creek" names that came up included golf courses, clubs, housing developments, condos, and a few others; when I added ASsociates to it, it came up as a medical office... all of the links were from several states, but none for California. His name came up mostly as some celebrity/entertainer or misc, but none associated with anything called Shadow Creek.
But the phone number generated this as the first link.
HHHHMMMMMMM.... sounds rather scam-ish and scummy if you ask me. Tell your mom not to fret about little sis. Two weeks ago, this same thing happened but with a different name and number, and when I threatened to call my own lawyer, he said go ahead, but then he called back a few minutes later and asked if I had reconsidered. I said no, and insisted on the names of his name, his company's owner, and his supervisor, and address to the company. I then reminded him it was illegal to offer up any of the claimed "case" information to anyone other than the supposed contact person, and that my lawyer would be wanting to pursue the charges they have... he hung up and never called back.
Two years ago, another had the same speech, but threatened to have her friend arrested by 7 pm if she didn't make arrangements by 5 pm, and even gave her her friends name. When you press these scammers for details of boss name, owners names, and addresses, they usually hang up and give up, especially if you throw in a tidbit of how they will have to go through your own lawyer to do business with you. - Got a call tooI just received a call but didn't answer it because it said "Private Number". When I listened to the voice mail, the guy said he was Travis Porter and was a process server in Richmond County and was looking for a Kenneth Glover in regards to bad checks and that my name and number had come up as a possible point of contact for him. He said that if I could, give Kenneth a message to call the "plaintiff", Shadowcreek & Associates and left this number. As noted above, when I googled the server's name, I found this is apparently a singer's name and then when I googled the number, this was one of the top results that came up. I was getting freaked out at first because I don't know this Kenneth Glover person, but now I'm thinking its just a scam. SO thankful I didn't call the number!!!!

- Steven| 3 repliesI got a call from a Travis Porter as well saying the exact same thing about a week ago, and I didnt call the number obviously cause I thought it was a scam. Then just yesterday he called me again, saying that the plaintiff wanted to resolve the issues at hand out of court and that if I didnt call he would have to serve docs. I still didnt call, and then this morning I was at work and got called into my office to have a meeting with the general manager of the company. When I got in there, the GM, my personal manager, and the process server were there and I did get served. I did think it was a scam, and in some cases it may be, or maybe I just have bad luck. I did just call the number I was given before and it went to a Shadowcreek something. They told me they were a mediation firm, but since I had already been served they couldnt do anything for me. :-(

- Ricky| 10 repliesProbably not a scam...you people probably owe debt and are looking for ways to run and hide...I work collections and more than likely they are looking for ways to save you from going to court because it is a prelitigation firm.
- O replies to sarahThey have called me many times, stating the very same things as described in these blogs. I reported the information and call back phone number to the police. They checked it out and said it was a SCAM. These scum suckers are praying on good people and scaring them into giving them a credit card number over the phone and depleating your bank account. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS, THEY ARE BAD PEOPLE. They give bogus claim numbers that end with the last four numbers of you social security number. Hope this helps.
- P replies to Ricky| 6 repliesIt is a scam, anyone who says otherwise is from Shadow Creek & Associates placing blogs on this site to help support their scum sucking cause. They are trash!
- Rodney RN replies to P| 5 repliesThis Porter guy showed up at my Job at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, dressed like he was a doctor and all. (I'm a nurse.) He walked up to my desk, and in front of patients, told me I had been served, and walked away like nothing had happened. And all of this over some stupid loan I took out 2 yrs ago. Tried to call shadowcreek, and they are refusing to let me settle up now. I wish it were as simple as y'all make it out to be. I wish I hadnt told them to F off in the first place. I thought it was a scam too, just like the rest of you. Now I have to miss work on monday morning to be in court.
- Michelle replies to Steven| 1 replyAre Steve Riley? Why is there not a website for Shadow Creek Associates? I have an ex who could have done something with my info and no retrun number or blocked numbers are not good.

- Shannon replies to StevenSo is this a scam or not? I just received this call today. They had info on a debt of mine, but when I googled I found this so didn't continue my payment arrangement,
- Chris| 1 replyI got the same call as everyone else. they called me at work and told me that i needed to call this shadowcreek capital back in the next 15 mins then i could "possibly" be served. I for one have worked in the field of collections for a very long time and my credit is not very good, so i assumed it was a collection agency that just found a "new" way to collect a debt by breaking even more laws. My father is an attorney so i had him find out what he could. What he found out is that this Shadowcreek capital is an ADR firm which apparently is an Alternative Dispute Resolution company. From there he was able to find out that they "handle" complaints for creditors. The "original" creditors have placed their debt with this company and they have also provided a locating service, which is who contacted me. These locating services are basically "private detectives" or as they call themselves "private locator's." Their job is to call us and let us know to call shadowcreek otherwise we will be served. And Shadowcreeks job is to collect the debt before the original creditor sues the individual that owes the debt. So after my father found out this information i decided to call them and find out exactly why they were calling me. They informed me that i took out a "payday loan." Which like everyone else that's being contacted by these people did. They did inform me what the "client" (or original creditor) intended on doing if I didn't pay them. I told them I'd call them back, which the man i was speaking with was not too happy about. I informed him my father in an attorney and I'd like to consult him on this. The mans tone changed but informed me that all he can do is put a 24 hrs hold on the file. I told him that was no problem and then to call me the next day before noon west coast time. I talked to my father, he called the original creditor and because hes a very good attorney he was able to speak with a woman in administration . She said once they put a "debt" into a legal file or they out source with a collection agency, they don't keep the file in their original store. They have everything on back up drives so when and if they take a "debtor" to court they just open it up and print out all of the original contracts and signatures and if the loans were done online they pull the IP address to show where the loan was applied from. She also told my father that this is a serious matter and it does need to be taken care of it sooner than later because once they move forward against me, there is nothing i can do until court and at that point their court costs and attorneys fees, and all of the back interest from the date that i defaulted on the loan would all be added to the amount that is currently due. So being the good attorney that my father is, informed to contact them and just pay it. That left a crappy taste in my mouth, I was hoping my dad would have got me out of it. So i called them and let them have it. Like i said i have been doing collections for several years and i just think its crap that they didn't just call me themselves. They informed me that they don't make out bound calls, which i already knew because of my dad, but i told them they should get in contact with their "client" and tell them that they should just collect the normal way. Their response to me was that they cant control what the client wants them to do. So i paid my account and i had them email, fax and mail me a letter today. They gave me an email right after my payment went through, they sent a fax to my dads office stating its paid off, and they said there will be a letter in the mail tomorrow to go out to me. So all in all what I'm saying, is that if you are getting calls to call shadowcreek back, just do it. you have a debt and they are trying to help you get out of the situation you've found yourself in. If you don't call them, then you run the risk of having to go to court for a debt that at that point will be so inflated it will make you sick because payday loan companies are legalized loan sharks and they take advantage of people during tough times. But i guess so does every other company. So my one piece of advice is to call them, pay your debt, and make sure you get the proper documentation sent to you so you have a copy, and then stop taking out payday loans.
I hope this helps some people who were questioning them. Oh! i almost forgot. My Father got some info on their name. Shadowcreek is a golf resort somewhere. and yes this company shares the same name but they are 2 completely separate companies and are on 2 opposite sides of the country. Not even the same owners. So again i hope this helps and if you have any questions post them on here and if i don't know the answer ill have my dad find out as soon as possible. I'll check it out a few times a week. Good luck - RickThese slime bags called my elderly parents saying they were trying to reach my wife. The guy said his name was John Coil and that he was a "process server" for Shadow Oaks Associates and he needed to serve her within 48 hours. Luckily my mom was evasive and gave them nothing.
