On my tablet trying to watch a movie on Free Movies Unlimited app.  Clicked on the movie to watch on another "server" which opened Microsoft Edge.  Up popped a "pop-up" screen that spoke that my computer was infected with spyware (or something similar) and I needed to call this number to fix it.  I should not use my computer until it is fixed because all my information is at risk, etc.

Looking for laptop repair for my Dell, got this popup that force my internet and told me to call 1-855-441-2943 to unlock it, Windows 10 doesn't seem to have anymore protection than previous MS operating systems.

One, get rid of Defender, it doesn't protect for crap.
Two, GET A BETTER ANTI-VIRUS. For myself, I use ZoneAlarm, but look around and find what works for you-there are both free and paid types out there.
Three, get MalwareBytes (the site is a .org) and run it to clean up anything that could be on your computer

This seems to be a scam. I got the same message on Dell and I called the number and they would want access to your PC making it sound like you were infected and they will fix it. Beware!

If their fake Technical Support message pops up on your screen, DO NOT CALL THESE SCAMMERS. Hold the power button for few seconds and It will turn your computer off. Turn your computer on again and do a browser clean up and temporary file clean up. Run a virus check and report these fake Microsoft technicians using Microsoft scam reporting web page. There has been a criminal case against these guys but because they are operating from overseas it is hard to get them to justice. There has been reports on the web that the masterminds of these scams are dual citizens living in North America but they hire innocent people overseas using the network of family and friends to run these criminal activities. No matter what happens to your computer just DO NOT CALL THEM to repair your computer remotely. They add malicious program on your computer, then ask you to subscribe to their maintenance program and will take control of your computer. DO NOT TRUST THESE SCAMMERS.

Got the same message on my Lenovo.   Did not call number.  Thanks for the input.
