    Same happened to me. When they requested I sign in to allow them to access my computer, I questioned whether they were actually Google, not a third party supplier, they got belligerent and hung up. I called back again to verify my suspicions. The phone was answered "Customer support" and when I asked who they were customer support for, they replied "Amazon." I asked why they were answering the number I had for Google, they got flustered... and hung up.

    Scammer wanting credit card so he could "analyze" my pc!  After about 7-8 words butchering the English language and the horrible accent, I hung up.  Idiot...

    Yeah, seems this is a popular phone number scammers post on support forums for unknowing/easily tricked users to come across, give a call, and possibly hand over personal information. I've spotted it in a couple of Google product threads myself:

    Ridiculous. What is up with all these scammer calls. Why don’t the government step up and doing something about this. They are especially hitting older seniors that don’t know any better or are gullible enough to play into their scams. And these poor people end up losing hundreds of thousands of dollars to these “[***]”. Someone do something about it. I’m tired of getting calls. And what good is 1800 do not call registry?  I’ve been on that for years what a joke.  They still call.
