855-448-7792 is a scam. They put a virus in my computer. Someone arrest these pirates!

I was receiving solvemypc.club popups that i had a virus and to call 8554487792, i did and a man with an indian accent answered and said he works for Microsoft, will help fix my virus free of charge, i was transferred to a woman who is supposed to be a technical support specialist, named Rey, I allowed her remote access to my computer by putting in a 6 digit # a chat popup appeared and she asked me to type my name and phone #. She then opened a page that showed i have been hacked and 21 ppl are illegally accessing my computer. 15 minutes later she transfers me to a man who is supposedly a sysco tech and asked if i had an hour bc it would take that long to fix the virus, my computer rebooted into safe mode she then said in a panicked tone, the hackers knows what we are doing thats why they rebooted the computer and put it on safe mode! i must transfer you now it will take 1 hr to clear your viruses which is absurd. The new tech, third person that gets remote access to my laptop also named Rey when i mentioned previous worker was Rey he paused and said, Reymond by the way... then asked for my date of birth and told me there will be a charge of $400 for services I asked for his Microsoft id and he gave me a bunch of random numbers. i refused to give him any information other than my full name and telephone #, he got angry and disconnected the call. this was a scam call & i want to report them! they had full access to my laptop, personal information and passwords. I dont know what files or information was extracted from my computer. This is a fraud do not allow access to these people! They try to sound professional but they are crooks.

They put a virus in my computer also I had to reformat my laptop to factory setting. They tried to get more information from me but got frustrated and hung up when I refused to give my DOB. Change all your passwords, report the fraud to IRS, put alerts on your transunion and equafax tax report (8006851111) & call your bank/credit card ASAP

Since the scammers accessed the computer, they probably did one or more of the following:
• Disabled the anti-virus software
• Added nasty malware to the computer
• Copied the Contact List (so they can spam/email your soon-to-be ex-friends)
• Copied any financial data or passwords they could find
• Compromised your ID
• "Zombied" the computer, so it would respond to THEIR commands sent via internet
• Deleted some important files
• Asked for money to repair the damage they caused

What can you do immediately after such an attack?
1.  Pull the cables on the computer, or otherwise disable it, so it cannot access the internet.
2.  Change ALL  passwords stored on the computer
3.  Run FULL malware scans on the computer, in "SAFE" mode!
4.  Change the passwords again, particularly if the malware scans showed anything
5.  Inform your bank and credit card companies
6.  Sign up for credit monitoring, and check the status frequently
7.  You may have to bring the computer to a local repair shop, and tell them the story.
8.  Tell friends what happened, so they can be aware of strange emails from you
9.  Plug in the cables only AFTER all the above have been done
10.  Change the passwords on all online accounts.  Even better - access a "safe", uninfected  computer, and chance your online account passwords RIGHT NOW.

NOTE:
If your computer set a "Restore Point" while it was infected, any "System Restore" you make will re-infect your computer.  Suggest you delete any potentially infected restore points and avoid setting such restore points until after your computer has been thoroughly cleaned!

f you gave them access, YES - they may have.  Please read Slim's comments above yours & run a virus. malware scan immediately.

Same thing happened to me...got suckered into their SCAREWARE :(
