This is an insurance scam trying to see you additional insurance but they say they are UHC but they are not according to UHC.

Always Google number before calling them back. This is a scam claiming to be from UHC. They try to draw you out by asking for personal info to confirm your identity before telling you why they called. Don't answer and let it go to voicemail then delete it.

this is a legit number, they are just calling to assist you with scheduling an appointment.

Caller claims to be calling on behalf of United Healthcare. Left a phone number where I could return his call and it is 855-473-1029. The key takeaway for me was the words "on behalf of." It seems to me if they're truly from UHC, they would say they were calling from UHC.

No, they are not saying that they are calling from UHC.  It appears you can't understand simple English.  When they say that they are calling on behalf of that means that UHC hired them to make calls for a reason.  Since no one here has bothered to find out why they are calling we will have to wait until someone finds out and posts it here.  My guess though would be that they are company that offers care that is included in your policy.

It was United Healthcare calling to make an appt for diabetic screening.  He connected me with an eye Dr in town and stayed on the line to assist.  Didn't ask for anything other than my name and date of birth.
