Got the call  they said it was Scotiabank, and they new my name. They ask me to return there call but I didn't. scammers

Missed that call so, I called back and it was a robotic automatic voice that said, "wait while i connect you to an agent". The lady "Scotia bank Agent" said my account had some security issues. Therefore, she said she needed to verify my details starting with my phone number, age, my scotia bank account number ..scam for sure!!!

Same thing, but they still call me on my job's phone, like each day since 2-3 months....really anoying!

left message to call this number Claiming to be from Scotiabank and had name.  Looked up this number and found out it was a scam to get banking info.  Called from 604-978-7180 (another scammer)

I got two calls from this number. Scam for sure.

Defensively a scam. I closed my Scotiabank account and do not owe them anything. A bank would never text you anyways.

Claim to be from Scotiabank and wanted me to enter birthdate  information on my keypad to verify it was me. Scotiabank would never ask for this information over the phone. It was totally automated so you're not talking to a real person. SCAM

Just got this phone call after they sent a text message It a scam especially when the phone is from Brownsville, Surrey County,Turks and Caicos Island

Supposedy from Scotiabank saying that we miss a payment to call R. Anderson VP at Scotiabank but our payments are done automatically

Got a text and a voicemail claiming to be Scotiabank about a past due Visa, the DAY it was due. They wanted me to send payment via text (?). The scary part is that they knew exactly how much my monthly minimum payment was.

They have started calling me at all hours of the day and night,  and usually start with a text message first stating my Scotialine account is past due on payment.  Then they have called my husband’s number looking for me shortly after calling me.  Our Scotiabank credit card number was stolen a month ago,  so I wonder if they got our info from those thieves?  I’ve called to confirm with Scotiabank that in fact this is a scam attempt,  and I’ve now blocked the number.  The bank would never use these methods to notify of a particular due payment.  Can anyone stop these scammers?

It’s the past due department calling to notifying so you can make a payment. You can go online or call Bank’s call centres and asked to be transferred to past-due department.

Scotiabank can call, text or even email you if they have your info on file. To verify that if past due department called you or not, you can call the number from the back of your card ask them to transfer you to the “Past Due” department. There they will tell you if your accounts ( bank account overdrawn, credit cards past due, mortgage past due or if your auto loan is past due or not). Past due department has multiple numbers they can call from so the main call centre employee may not know all the numbers. That’s why you ask the main call centre people to transfer you to Past Due collection department

They called at 9.35am Saturday 18 December 2021 claiming to be Scotiabank asking for me by first name. ASked me to press "1" to confirm that it is me. I decided to play the game and see how far they tried to go. They said "thank you" in resonse to my pressing "1". Next they asked me to verify my id by entereing my date-of-birth in the(US) MMDDYYYY format. This was where I hung up. Game over!!!! The bank would not call on a Saturday morning unless they were in "collections".

Everyone BEWARE please!!!! The caller was a very cultured non-accented male voice which could inspire confidence in the unwary!

Looks like we missed a couple of shills here last week. There's no logical reason for you or "Mag" to look up a known phone number so clearly you both came to shill.

WTH {Scotiabank?}, you called me and want to confirm my identity over the phone.

Similar to others - claims to be Scotia Bank, but asks confirmation questions.  It's my name and my phone - that seems pretty confirming enough to me, so why would anyone provide them more info?
They say to call the same number - I would feel better if they said something like "Call the number on the back of your card and then use this reference no. xxxxx"
