Got the exact same thing this morning. I'm nit replying.

I received a text claiming to be a security check about a political donation I did make, on the date & amount mentioned. I will not respond.

Same as others asking if I made a donation on particular date and I believe the amount they were asking about was maybe the amount I made, but I subsequently was billed monthly and tried to stop the billing process. Not sure if this has any connection. I think it could be spam, etc..

Exact same Security Check message as others.  It was for a valid donation made a month ago.  Request was made to verify.  I live in a state where anyone can cause your voter registration to be put on hold, so this Phishing attempt is alarming.  Didn't respond.  Blocked and reported as spam.

Same thing happened to me this morning - "security message" from anonymous entity asking whether I had made a political donation.  I did not respond.

Same as above: Received text time stamped 10:11AM PT today re: DNC donation allegedly made 06/24/24. I use ActBlue Express on Mac OS and iOS (service providers Soectrum and ATT), also have Chase Bank cards but don’t use them for this purpose. I’m blocking and reporting sender, will check FEC record to see if it’s being used as the source, but based on other reports here I doubt it. My best guess, based on the totality of information here and the details in my case is that this is a data breach at Act Blue, and a fairly recent one.

There may be public records of the donations, which the spammers use to fake authenticity. ActBlue would not send a message from a phone number, and I never gave them my cell phone number anyway.

I also received a text message from this unknown source asking about a specific political donation. Blocking the number!

06/24/24, Friends we should name our State. Because the only person that can help in each state's Attorney General. They have staff that can investigate. And often online forms that are quick and easy to fill out. Minnesota here.

What would people naming their state accomplish?  I'm sure that they can find the Attorney General in their state easily, or at least I would hope so. Besides, based on the timing of the posts (most of them within 2 to 5 minutes of each other with some being a little longer between posts) then this is the work of one individual using multiple screen names and thinking that it is smart enough that people won't figure that out.

Same thing. Asked if I donated a specific amount. Scary… how do the know?
