I received a call today stating that I owed for a payday loan from 2008..... I am in the military and haven't lived at that address since a month after they say I did. I find it weird that after four years,I am being threatened with being served with papers to be sued. I also found out that this company is called Upstate Management services.....rip-off report regulars. Amazing that someone would call from a restricted number and inform me that I am being sued.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the Consumer Credit Helpers at 855-672-1988  with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA.  They will get the collection calls to stop .they helped me two months ago! wonderful Service
