I received a computer warning that my computer was infected with a malicious virus that would steal credit card information and I should call this number to have it removed. Needed task manager to close out of the program.

I received the same message.  I was  dumb enough to call the number.  I got some guy with an Indian accent.  Since I am hard of hearing, I could not understand what he was saying.  When I asked to speak to an American  without an accent he said something I couldn't understand.  I asked if  there was anyone else there I could speak to and he said no and started asking questions I didn't understand so I told him I would just shut the computer down and I hung up.  I don't know what this is all about but I will be checking my phone bill for quite while..

This was a pop-up on a computer screen warning of a virus and insisting I call this number.
Clearly some kind of scam.
It came through a facebook screen with a food recipe.
Ran a full virus scan. No virus, but had to restart computer to recover control of screen.
