- Sam| 5 repliesCall from "Niagara Portfolio Solutions" - a recorded message stating they had mailed me documents numerous times, but because I had not responded, they were "proceeding with this matter into my county", and that I had 24 hours to respond. This is the SAME SCAM that has called me repeatedly over the past 2 years. About 5 years ago, I got into a bad patch financially and made the huge mistake of taking out payday loans to get out of it. All I did was make things worse, because some of the lenders that are lending via the internet are not legal - they operate out of other countries or are not licensed to lend in my state. Never, ever take out payday loans, folks - they will NOT help your situation in the long run. I have had to work long and hard to improve my financial situation from that point. I paid all my loans off - but one of them (who knows which one) continues to try to collect on the loan, even though it's paid off. There's your red flag about whether they're legal or not. A legal business would not do that. Strongly recommend you block this company from calling you.

- John DeereSame Message. They called from 859-908-3324 and wanted a call back to 855-546-9043. They did not address who they were looking for. I have great credit and don't owe anyone money so I have no clue who they are looking for. Just some FYI.

- Sam| 1 replyNiagara just called AGAIN....from a different number....6 days after their last call (which claimed I had 24 hours to resolve the issue or they would "escalate this matter to my county") - again, claiming I had until the close of business today to resolve the matter, or it would be "filed with my county" and I would be "served papers at my home or workplace in the next 24 hours".
They steal phone numbers to avoid you blocking them. They lie in order to get you to pay a debt that is uncollectable due to the statute of limitations having run out, or one that has already been paid in full. They make threats they have no intention (or ability) to carry out - like having you arrested or "charges filed in your county". Don't believe them. They may be a legitimate business on paper, but they are violating every law of collection set forth by the FDCPA.
Sorry a**holes....sell your brand of crazy somewhere else. We're all full up here.- Caller: Niagara

- Peggy Testroet| 3 repliesI also just received a call from Niagara Portfolio Solutions! Interesting thing is that the number my caller id came up was local 641-423-4740 but the message left was to call 855-546-9043. I am so angry & upset with this! I want to call someone to report this but I don't know how to! These are thieves that continue to threaten individuals! They are nasty and this needs to STOP!

1. Spoofing a number in the person's area code is ONLY done for Scare Tactic effects.
2. The caller using the spoofed number acts as if they are calling from a process server location.
3. The caller threatens that you have charges against you and leaves a case number.
4. The caller tells you this is you final warning.
5. The caller tells you to be available between "certain hours" with two forms of ID to receive legal papers.
6. The caller leaves a number for you to call should you wish to find our what the charges pertain to or would like to "reschedule delivery" of said documents.
Should you call the number left..
7. The "agent" requests your social security number or part of it, date of birth, or address to "verify" it is YOU.
*Identity theft anyone? As has been stated in various sites dedicated to fighting scams, "They called you. NEVER GIVE ANY INFORMATION.". You are not required to give out that information to anyone over the phone.
8. The "agent" gets angry when you refuse to give them your sensitive and personal information. *They are Phishing.
9. When you refuse to give them your sensitive and personal information The "agent" refuses to give you details of what the call is about. *Such as, Who the supposed creditor is.
10. The "agent" may give you their "company name", but will not give their address or any other information about them.
11. The "agent" then tells you the process server is heading your way.
12. The "agent", in a last ditch effort to phish and scare you into making a payment that doesn't exist, gives you a magical update at the estimated arrival time the process server will be arriving.
Bonus Round: Should you inform them that; A. You do not have any debts what so ever; B. You have filed for any type of bankruptcy in the past and all debt was covered. This is public record available to them if they are indeed a legitimate entity; or C. To contact your attorney, and they will refuse to listen.
ALL of the above are NOT legal methods or practices for any collections firm. They are Illegal practices.
Report them to the Attorney General in your state with all details.
File a report with the FTC.
The more reports filed on these illegal-false collectors, the higher the odds are of them getting caught and brought to justice!
Educate yourself on your rights and the difference between legitimate and illegal phishing scammers. If you don't owe anything, YOU DON'T OWE ANYTHING!
If need be, seek out legal council and fight these scammers and illegal collection practices. - Tamianth replies to Peggy TestroetTo File complaints FDCPA/TCPA violations:

They called from 916-527-2654 and said to call 855-546-9043 and identified as Niagara Portfolio Solutions. I blocked them on both numbers but I'm sure they will call again on another number. Will be notifying authorities and reporting this company. They have no business calling us. They also ask for a person that does not live at our place. Real scam artists! BEWARE AND DON'T TALK TO THEM. KEEP BLOCKING THEM.

- JoReceived a message from 303-558-6944 telling me to call them back at 855-546-9043 within 24 hours or they would send papers to my county and contact my employer. The are using a company name of Niagra Portfollio Solutions. 1st of all, if you are being served, they do not contact you via the phone. 2nd of all when you call them back, they do not answer the phone in a business way, they just say hello. If you question them about their locations, they get very defensive and hang up on you. 3rd, I don't work, so there is no employer to contact! This is a scam

- Cheryll replies to SamMan I am so glad I found this page I almost got scammed out of $500 to $1500. The very same people called me to and my family I told my family they were scammers.
- AC| 1 replyMy call came from 727-474-0646 a local number for me. The caller left a vm saying that he was calling from Niagara Portfolio Solutions they had mailed things. I have never received any mail from them ever! The person was clearly reading a script. Same as everyone else that I have 24 hours until they get the paperwork ready and to call 855-546-9043 or they are going to proceed with court. Nothing about this company sounds legal but I guess if they are I will be getting some papers from the court.

- Esha replies to CWG40I received a call from this also.. But instead there was a guy Named "Marcus Jones". He got very upset with me when I didn't verify any information as well when I told him to do what he wished But I was not paying anything. Strangest thing, when I asked for an address staring my lawyer would send papers proving I didn't owe anything, he gave me P.O. Box 54 Niagra Falls NY 13004. Then he hung up when I asked which number would he liked to be contacted on thonene or the 313 number he called on. Ha! I think I'm going to bother them until they stop calling me.
