They called, hung up when my answering machine picked up, then called back again seconds later. You know, being bothered once is bad enough, but twice is really a pain. Let's block 'em!

Called my cell and left no message. Although it is unsolicited, and there was no caller ID, the number is published by SCE and I am their customer... So I won't block this quite yet.

Meanwhile, SCE sent an email warning of spoofed numbers: "We have recently experienced an increase in reports of caller ID spoofing, a practice in which special phone equipment falsifies information on your caller ID display. Calls may appear to be from SCE, when in reality the caller has no association with SCE and may try to sell you products, collect personal information or say your electric bill is past due when it's not."
"Common red flag warnings related to spoofed phone calls:
   Calls were made multiple times per day
   Callers asked about customer's usage, meter or other personal information
   Customers were provided recommendations for purchasing alternative energy products"

This number is used for the brfss survey a national system used by all 50 states it’s not spam it’s anonymous survey

It is a suspect call. I first get a call from 857 273-5096, several calls over 3 days. Only one voicemail claiming to be Massachusetts public health doing a survey and leaving the 855-5612243 number as a call back. I suspect spam/spoofing. A "survey" can be a fishing for info. I am going to label it as spam.

It makes no sense if it identifies with several companies and uses the same number for unrelated organizations/businesses. Are you employed by this "survey" company?

Using both Yahoo and Google I did not come up with "unrelated organizations/businesses.  I did come up with a survey sponsored by the Minnesota Dept of Health.  The number is one off from the number on their website.  This could mean an extension at that survey company or that someone is using a one off number to scam people.
