    Got a letter in the mail from this company about a debt. I called them and paid it.

    We hope the letter contained the proper validation, which includes:

    The amount of the debt
    The name of the creditor you owe
    A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.

    Got a call from Chris Jerries who claims he has sent me correspondence to my home and place of employment. I have not received any thing from this company LSS and Associates.

    I received a phone call, from two different numbers..From the same guy back to back..I ask him for his info after he said I was being taking to court? An then said I would be served..I told him One comes befor the other. You get served then you go to court.??? An then he gave me a number to call.An hung up only to call me back again from another number..An repeat the previous convo..Right down to the sketchy hang up!

    I got a call today saying I owe a debt back in 2008. They said I have to pay right now or a police officer would arrest me. She is calling ever 15 to 30 mins. am not answering phone.

    Calling regarding someone in my family, stated that if I didn't call them back they will pursue to the extent of the law. LOL!! I called it back but blocked my caller id so that don't see my number.  As soon as I said I received a call regarding such and such person.  He stated what do I have the wrong number.  I said I don't know, there are many of those names.  He spoke to someone in Spanish and then he hung up.  Stupid people trying to get a free buck scamming. I am no fool.   Callers name was Marshall Kennedy.

    honestly this company are good people we are the ones that owe the money so its our responsinilty to pay it back my acct was 1984.00 and i got a settlement offer at 625.00 they will work with you

    nobody likes getting call from debt collectors but if you hear them out they will give you all the info you need to remember who you owe. i took a payday loan with allied cash and froze my acct and never paid it back got a great settlement offer

    Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
