This is a scam. I called the number over 12 times in one day and all it does is hang up on you. Then a few hours or maybe the next day later, someone will call you and states that they are from whatever county you live in. I received a call from "Claudia" who sounded like she's from New Jersey stating that she is calling from "Mecklenburg County" and that she received some papers from my attorney and to call them at the 855-598-4417 number. I called and its a recording that states "You have reached the law offices of Coleman, Berstein and Greenburg" and then gives you options. All the options hang up on you. Then I got a call today from the same Claudia girl stating that they are going to serve papers to me tomm via a process server and that I need to be home to sign for them and this time I had used my google voice to force them to show caller ID information and the number came up as Unknown and the listed when google as the Mecklenburg County court house. So I called the court hose and spoke with small claims and they couldn't find anything in my name and transferred me over to the Sheriffs office to have them run the address (In Mecklenburg county which is where I reside, the sheriff's office handles all court summons) and the lady ran my name, my address and even my SSN and couldn't find anything and believed it to be a scam. So I tried calling this "Law Firm" and they answerred and said I was being charged for check fraud and that my bank Branch Bank and Trust has confirmed this and issued a sworn statment. Well that closed the deal that this was fraud because I have not had an account with BBT for a long time now and yes, I had a payday loan from Plain Green loans that defaulted but I paid it off.

The people are getting more and more articulate about how they speak and they are getting better. I filed a complaint with the North Carolina Attorney Generals office as well.

So to anyone out there when in doubt, call your local authorities and have them check into it first. Worst case a creditor can do is sue you but not "Hold it for another day to get payment to settle outside of court". Do not give these people any money as well.
