Female Caller called and said  I had a package to be delivered to me and was I going to be home. I called
the number back and a boy answered by saying hello, not the name of a company. The more I talked to him
the more he kept stumbling over his words. He was a joke , this is a scam....I asked to meet with him in person
to get the package and he hung up.

Debt collection/process server extortion scam.  You can be sure they knew where you are and your phone number already.

One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.  They often call people that have never even been associated with you because they get erroneous information off of the internet.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

They called wanting to reach my husband. They left a voicemail that said he had 24 hrs to reach them or further actions would be taken. I called the number once with no answer and no voicemail. A second call later on was answered but they asked if **** was my husband and I confirmed that. I asked who they were and what they wanted exactly and what these "charges" were or "further action" they were threatening with. They then asked me to confirm his birthdate and I said I would not as I had no idea who they were or what they wanted. They did not elaborate much. Said he may be getting certified mail or a subpoena. I am not sure if this is true or a scam, but we will wait for something in writing. I will be surprised if something shows up.

    Trusting my gut
I got a call fr‭om an unknown number wanting to know if I was going to be home to be served legal papers. I asked what it was about she said she didn’t know but gave me the number ‭1 (855) 598-4457‬ to call with any questions reguarding the legal papers. I called and person answered phone with “hello” asked for name and transferred me. I talked to a “Jennifer Scott”. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I argued with her and she kept sayin she was taking me to court and my bank account would be seized. After arguing back and forth (I have a collection employment background so I knew she wasn’t doing it correctly) she hung up on me. I later called back and spoke to her “supervisor”. Every time I called phone was always answered with “hello”, never name of business. When I asked for business name I would get an attitude from person. Finally I was told they are Alliant Acquisition. Something didn’t seem right. I asked for proof they were a legit business and they responded with sending me an email of a settlement deal? Anyone with knowledge of how to work a computer template can make one.  I contacted my local police department and they said do not pay anything, sounded like a scam, and to let them serve me for legal documentation and proof it wasn’t a scam. When I called back to inform them I contacted the police they hung up on me.

I received a call from Jennifer Scott from Alliant Acquisition group. She was very rude and disrespectful.
She told me that I was ignorant and that I did not have the right to talk when I tried to ask her questions about why would I sign some type of agreement and give her my number if she cannot put an amount on the agreement 1st of all especially I she expects me to give her my bank information....She is Bat &^%$ crazy. Then she threatened me and called me ignorant and threatened my wages, and everything else then hung up the phone when I told her that she was rude and unprofessional.

The same thing happen to me today. They said I owed a Hospital Bill from 2005 in the amount of 4,000 and that they spoke to me in 2014. I cussed one lady out and allegedly spoke to some supervisor who made up a name. The company is in Riverside California and they have a virtual office in the Regus Building 951-310-3000 they claim regus that is can not reveal who owns the business alliant aquisition. My local police office in florida said i can not file a extortion claim. They made me so up set today sending my depression and anxiety to over drive because I am a 100% Disabled Veteran. They claimed they would take me to court and that they would garnish my checking account. I spoke to a Melissa, Jennifer Scott and a Chris Riley.

Much like my situation. The first call i recieved said I was being sued by a hospital. Called hospital to confirm. Hospital said they weren't suing me. (Was from many years ago) Nevertheless. I tried to track whom they sold it to for it to get to alliant. Was told they would settle for $xxx.xx that day befoe close of business or court paperwork would be filed the following Monday. FF a week after that, recieved a voicemail from Jennifer Smith who was very rude to myself as well, upset that the hospital would offer what she said was legal advice. I advised her of my rights under fair debt collection. I too provided an email and was sent a generic agreement from made by an app. I asked for a debt validation in writing, which I was told was sent once 30 days then 45 days ago....i never recieved anything- but was told that because i read the email it was as good as the paper and they didn't need to send it. I said well don't have what your asking for, is there a payment plan or settlement. I was placed on hold. Was told a payment amount to settle today or an amount for a set amount of months. I said would speak to my my partner, but didnt see any issues paying it--  glad I was warned not to send anything by the police and others. Was told if this was indeed real, all communication would be sent in the mail.
