caller says from social security and my social security has been breeched

My SS# has been compromised

I contacted Social Security Admin  @ 1-800-772-1213 in response to a possible scam from 855-602-5002 saying my SS# was 'suspended".  SSI said they would only contact you through the 800-772-1313 # only.

Did not answer

claimed my SS account was suspended from possible fraudulent activity

This number called everyday telling me they suspended my social security number because of fraud. I finally answered it, at first i didnt assuming it was a solicitor. They left a message. If you try calling it back- you will receive a automated message asking to submit a " consumer number?" This is absolutely awful! A breach of privacy and probably a federal offense.

Voice mail message claiming that my SSN had been compromised.

I have received calls almost every day for about a week from this number and others saying my social security number has been suspend [sic] for possible fraudulent activity. I'm sure it's a scam but scared me at first.
