If I don't recognize number, I just answer, but don't say a word.  I just put the call on mute and confuse the robo computer. Sometimes a person speaks, but does not ask for me by name or identify themselves and they just hang up when I don't respond and remain silent.  This one spoke in foreign accent, did not identify himself and just said call the number  back since he did not get a response from me.  Not foolish enough to call yet another spammer/scammer back.

This is a legitimate call from Time Warner Cable's internet tech support group.

I called TWC internet tech support last night, my wifi speed was slower than wired. We worked through the issue but could not get it resolved. We scheduled a visit from a technician.

Apparently TWC continued working on my problems - the call from this number was a representative asking me to check if my wifi speed had improved since they had changed a few more settings in order to see if the issue was resolved or if we still needed the technician visit. I was at work when I received the call - the representative apologized for calling me at work and asked if he could schedule a time later today to call back to test the results of their work.

Legitimate call from Time Warner Service Repair.  If you don't answer, you might not get help from their technicians.

I can confirm that this is a legit number for TWC advance tech support. I had cable service down after a storm. After scheduling for tech to come out, these folks called a few hours later. Because they said they were calling from Iran, with a thick accent, and only the 1-855 number showed up in the caller - ID, I was skeptical and hung up - thinking it was some type of scam. I called the number back later and determined it was a valid number for TWC tech support.

Time Warner Cable Tech Support.  I called the day before and scheduled a tech to come out because my internet had been going out every evening for 4 days.  I call to have them refresh my connection and it works.  The tech said they had been making some adjustments to my settings and wanted to know if I had a connection.  I told him I couldn't because I was at work.  He said he understood and asked me to explain the problem again, in detail, and told me he would send a tech out that evening.  I already had a tech scheduled for that evening.  Waste of time phone call and a bit disruptive, as I had people waiting in my office for me to finish.

I received a call from this number saying it was TWC tech support, but I got a funny feeling when an Indian guy kept asking me questions about when I was going to be home.  He repeated back the wrong date of my service appointment so I checked with an online TWC rep and they gave me a completely different number for tech support.  

Call from this number woke me up and they did not say anything.

The top comment from Lucy is lunacy. It's just Time Warner Cable. This is a line they use for tech support follow-ups. If you don't hear anything on the other side, telephone systems aren't perfect.

Then why aren't they smart enough to put TWC in their caller ID.  I am getting sick of these types of calls, even from legitimate companies.  They would have no problem with proper caller ID.

I can confirm this is legit TWC. I almost didn't pick it up because it was listed as 800 service and I've had several scammers call under that listing but because I had called Time Warner the night before I bit the bullet and picked up. Even after he identified himself I was leary. I would have not let him take remote control or give him credit card or acct information but he did not ask for these things. I agree with that they should label themselves so ppl would know who is calling.

Time Warner Cable's Internet Tech Support. They called and left a message.

Mohammed Mulla called me from this number but I did not answer.  I do not know this person and will not answer the two calls that came in on 05-17-15 at 6:10 and 6:18pm or anytime this name appears.  It is interesting that TWC had been calling me during the day and before and after these calls came in another call from TWC came in.

This ph# called me 5 times within an hour.  They say they are Time Warner and tried to cancel the service call appt I had scheduled for tonight.  I confirmed that I do NOT want to cancel.  I called Time Warner & was told that is not them.  It's an outside vender.  I asked if that is the case, how did they know I have an appt scheduled for tonight at 7 for a technician to come to my home???  And how do they have the ph# I gave TWC last night to contact me when the tech is on his way??  No answer.  The last time I received that same call I said DO NOT EVER CALL THIS PH# AGAIN!!!!  THIS IS HARASSMENT!!!!!  All this because of one service appt.  This is so ridiculous!  I regret ever giving them my ph# :-(

WRONG!!!  Evidently Time Warner gives our information to outside venders.  I was called 5 times within one hour, all because of a service call appt.  I called TWC & was told these calls are not from them.  WTF???

I agree, I had a TWC issue, and I am sure they were calling about the resolution, but listed as 800 number without TWC, and I do not answer 800 numbers, unless they identify themselves.

Got a call and didn't answer it.  Message was from Time Warner confirming an appointment I set up this morning.  The guy who set it up said I would be getting a call to confirm it.  I agree....why wouldn't they put ID on it so people would know.

I had a call from this number and when I checked the message it was a recording confirming a service appt from time warner cable...I do not use twc and did not schedule a service appt with them

I have been having trouble with my cable TV this past week so I called Time Warner for the second time today and tried to fix the issue but it did not work, so they are sending a Tech this next week to try to resolve the issue. I as well received 4 calls from this same number and the first time a message was left stating it was from Time Warner and confirming my appointment for this coming week. I do not answer phone numbers anymore from 800 #'s since a lot of them are scams. I also agree they should have Time Warner listed as the caller when this number calls you back.  I will not call this number back because I am not sure where the call comes from. I only call the number listed on my bill when I need them.
