Claimed to be from Microsoft.  It is a scam.  Had a thick indian accent

Scam!!

I got a popup locking my computer and telling me to call this number or it would remain locked.  If I shut the computer down it said it said I would I would not be able to reopen it.  I foolishly called the number and I was passed from one person to another, all with thick Indian accents, but using "Joe Smith" type names.  My caller ID showed them to be Om Prakash and Depak Tech, both calling from "Unknown Numbers."

This just happened to my boyfriend , they wanted 200.00 to fix it and take lock off ! claiming to be Microsoft! I hope they get shut down from doing this to more innocent people!

I got a call from this same # with the same message posted!!! 1-855-627-4688.  I even went as far to log into my computer!!!!!!! Thick indian accent.  I don't have any saved credit card numbers in my computer any longer.  He said not to do any banking on my computer as I did not have internet security. Said it would be $200 to fix. I told him I thought it was a scam. Now I have to find out if my computer is constantly at risk as I let him in.

Got message on computer virus threat call microsoft then said oh we contract independents to do driver updates and slimware, if we get disconnected call back to this number-888-994-8925. Then, charged me 99.99 for a yr on driver updates and 39.95 on slimware and now charging me 19.95 a month.  Then another lady called a week later from 888-519-8143, wanted to see if everything still working didn't answer that call.
