recovery company called me about a debt owed by my son's ex-wife. they were divorced in 2004. she has never lived at my residence and i have no idea how this business got my phone number. i do not want them to ever call back concerning her debt

This number has been calling a friend of mine, whom i have never used as a reference or a contact number on anything whom i just met a few years ago. They say that i am being summons to court but no other info, except they are pro-recovery welfare out of the town i live in. I have not only never heard of this place here in my town but i also googled it and nothing comes up.

These peons contacted someone I know. Never have I ever heard of these people.  I call the 855-752-5174 number and spoke with Samantha Lewis who indicated she was a litigator. I asked her if she was an attorney and she said no she was not. I proceeded to asked her about her company name etc., at which point she said she has another customer on the line and did not have time. Okay--so I called back. spoke with Lisa and asked for Samantha Lewis' supervisor--after 6 minutes on hold Brett Kold gets on the line. I ask him, directly, "Are you an attorney?" He then said, "Ma'am, how can I help you?" I I in turn, said, "you can help by answering the question...are you an attorney?" He says, "yes." I said okay--well since I want to make sure I am actually speaking with an attorney, please tell me what state you practice in, he says "New York", I am like, great! pulled up the website to check for an attorney. Bottom line--the fool is not an attorney. This company is not reputable--be honest and communicate what you are searching for, you idiots!
What they did not know is that I have and continue to work (over 10 years now) for a litigation firm.

I received a phone call from a Rochester NY phone # telling me I needed to call 1-855-752-5174 with a case# because they were ready to send out a sheriff to serve me with papers to appear in court for a debt.  I called Prorecovery Services and transferred to Samantha Lewis who stated that I had a debt from a company Personal Cash Advance.  It was some kind of payday loan from December 2012.  I don't know this company nor did I ever receive any money from them.  Because she threaten to have a sheriff show up at my employer I got scared and made arrangements to pay a lower amount.  (YES I AM STUPID).  I called Samantha Lewis back because I want to talk to this company I supposedly owe but was never notified until 4 yrs later and she cannot even give a phone #

Recieved Message to call back this number.  Once I called was told about a debt from 10years ago.  I had completely forgot that when I changed banks to provide my new account info.  Brett was very understanding. Waived all the late fees and settled for less than the amount I borrowed. I have spoken to alot of [***] collectors in my life.  But this was one of the best experiences, I have had especially with a bill so old. Im honest and never intended to not to pay, feels good to finally take care of it.

So, you conveniently forgot about a debt, for 10 years, even though the creditor sent you several nastygrams during that period.

THEN, you decided to pay the debt to some third party, even though the Statute of Limitations had expired.

That made you feel sooo good, you just had to come to a phone complaints site to tell us all about it.


Since you know so much about "ProRecovery Services", how about sharing ALL their information with us?  What is their

Also, in what states are they licensed?

I received a call from some place saying am i gonna get summons and will i be home to receive a letter i said they have me a 1-855 -752-5174 # to call i did not call it cause i looke the number up and of course it is a scam. How do they get your number .i do not want them to call me again

I recieved a call from Rochester, NY (585) 360-0759 claiming to work with the freedom law group.  They said I was being sued and to call 855-752-5174 to handle the matter before I was taken to court.  I asked for his name and I was given the name Sullivan.  He gave me a case # and explained how it was a civil matter that the freedom law group had a summons for me.  I thought it seemed like a scam so I researched the phone # and found this...is there anything that we can do and file charges against these degenerates?

My husband received a call from this number and when I called it, I got a message saying that the phone number was disconnected. They threatened to put a warrant out for my arrest. If it is a bill collector, they do not have the ability to do that. I know my rights and by law, they are not allowed to call any family or friends and cannot threaten

I got a call from (585)360-0759 (Rochester NY) stating the same thing...that a summons would come to my house.  They gave me a "case number" and said to call 1-855-752-5174.  I called there and spoke to some guy who said it was a loan from a Personal Cash Financial company (which I never used) for $360 from Feb 2010 (I was active duty military at that time and would never need a personal loan).  He had an OLD address for me, some employer I never worked for, some e-mail address I've never had.  He said the people filing the civil suit would take a settlement of $125.  Today I tried to call and mess with them.  The Rochester number won't answer (maybe because I used an unknown number to call them.)  I called the 1-855 number and it must have shown up as my cell number because they knew my name.  They asked for the last 4 of my social and I said I don't give it out.  They transferred me to Samantha Lewis.  I asked her if I could record the call and she said yes.  I asked her why I saw a post (on this web page) that was almost identical to what her "company" told me on the phone yesterday.  I asked her if this was a scam.  She said she had another client on the line and if I didn't have any more questions, she would end the call.  I'm gonna keep calling them back, from different phones, and made up names, to see if they pull the same crap.

They are using the company names of actual law firms in order to scam people into giving them money.

How can I confirm this?

Because this number has been referencing the address of THE LAW FIRM THAT I WORK FOR and we have been getting a bunch of calls from angry people wondering why they are being harassed about debt.

It goes like this:

This company or person will call you and say that they are with the "The Freedom Group".

Next they will inform you that they want to make sure you are home so they can send you a "summons" because you owe them thousands of dollars. If they are not paid they will "put out a warrant for your arrest" and "drag you to court to sue you".

What is seriously concerning is the some of the people who have called us said this company knew their social security number.

AGAIN. This is is a scam. Please Pllllease do your research before just reaching for your credit card.

I just did the same thing...I keep calling the 1-855 number and messing with them.  They gave me the same line of bull-$hit that someone else posted...a debt from 2010 for $300 and they would take a settlement for $125.  Total BS  I think they get the info from Google -- Public Records searches....I looked myself up and did find my old address on there.  I hate scammers

They asked me to verify the last 4 digits of my social...I said I don't give that out.  Total BS Scam.  Now, I gotta find out who setup that 1-855-752-5174 number.  Working on that now.  Samantha Lewis is the name the lady gave me....probably made that up too.  What sucks is some people will actually PAY the settlement amount.
