Said it was a Rebecca Fisher from Patterson Legal Services out of Clearwater Florida - about a judgement to be taken against me for a medical debt

I got the same phone call yesterday- I actually spoke with them, I hung up on them after deciding they were def a scam. Also spoke with Ms Fisher… she even called me back today with more threats of legal proceedings. They had enough info about me that I put a fraud alert on all the credit agencies last night. It’s scary times!!
There should be a way to protect ourselves and prosecute these people!

The fake process server/location specialist scam usually contains:

They mention that they have received a Fax document or some sort of complaint and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency.  They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  They threaten to serve you at home or at work.  They tell you that if they serve you at work they need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work.  They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID.  None of which is true.  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.  They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”.  Court documents are time sensitive and have to be served within a certain amount of time.  Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there is actually a lawsuit that has been filed against you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter, email, or text (postmarked in the case of a letter) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. Unless they have communicated it to you verbally at the beginning of your conversation. It also must contain the “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this communication must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that communication you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

Received a call from “Ms. Fisher“ who transferred me to a “agent“. They stated that they had an old payday loan from a company that I worked for 10 years ago to an old bank account that I have not had for years. I never took out a payday loan with this company. They said they had my ““ IP address“ which proved that I took out the money, and I had intended to defraud the company. Three times they have called me and stated that they were going to send someone out to get me on Friday. Friday comes  And I’m sitting in my home waiting, and no one shows up. The final straw was when they started calling my family members. They leave a message saying that I know the charges against me and that I need to call this number. 855–7 72–3413. I have checked my state and county court office, and there is nothing pending. This is all a huge extortion scam.

Voicemail about a claim against me and they have already notified me..

I'm trying to see if this a scam caused I done sunt two payments to these people's and they have my bank card on file too I pray and hope this ain't no scam

Interesting this number was a man, but I’ve had numerous calls from a Rebecca fisher from another number whose been even calling up my family members (even my boyfriend) telling them to have me return her call. How’s this legal? Even calling people we know. If it’s a scam, they’re desperate

I received the same voicemail, male voice, stern, angry and threatening sounding. Call was from an entirely different number than the one he said I have to call back. That I've already been made aware and they're going to take action of i do not respond, about the "claim"
No name, no company name, no info about anytime at all.

Threatening voicemail, claiming that I'd already been made aware of the " claim" and I need to call back that number (which is entirely different than what he called me from, 321-599-8083) angry, threatening, stern and vague. I didn't call them back because it was obvious BS, to me at least.

Said we know that  you are aware of our claims against you
If you don't respond to this we will take further action against you
