called and left message

I just received a call of this nature about 1-2 hours ago. I started receiving calls from blocked numbers 2 days ago. Today they left a message stating that my name came up in an investigation regarding a "George Leary" (who I do not know). They gave me a # to call back and a claim number but no other information. The person calling did not identify himself or where he was calling from & the message was very confusing. They made it sound like this other person was the one under investigation and advised me to call him at this 855 # to the man leaving the message didn't have to contact a police department. The police department that he referenced in at the other side of the state, not anywhere near where I live. The return # was 855-775-3479. I have not responded and immediately looked the # up online where I found all these responses.I am going to report to the police. I agree with the above post that says debt collectors do not hold back information. I don't know if the person who left the message is claiming to be a debt collector bc that was never stated. They DID say that IF I KNEW THE PLANTIFF TO CALL HIM BACK AT THE 855# TO AVOID HAVING THE POLICE CONTACTED. This sounds so shady. I am not calling back and opening the door to them. Anyone else in a similar situation, do the same

This number is part of a nationwide scam. Please report any calls to the FBI or local police or your attorney as what they are doing is illegal

Same call 5 times yesterday...scam company..do not fall for the call and company, report to local police
