Locked up computer

My chromebook has locked up this number is listed as support but upon calling phone call did not appear to be what u expect from tech company,had no concern to discuss anything or ask me questions, only remark made to me was i have to pay 140.00 now, curious to know if anyone has had any similar experiences associated with this number

It is NOT Microsoft calling - it is a THIEF who wants access to your unit.  There have been MANY complaints under MANY other numbers.

My computer locked up and I called the number and  I said is this microsoft and he said yes it is and I said no you didn't answer  the phone Microsoft you said computer tech  is your computer frozen? and I said this is a SCAM he said no no and I hung up and they called back.. Really?  No one call you back if you are on hold , so I just did ctrl alt delete and restarted my computer and ran a malware  scan and its fine now.

They claimed they are Microsoft when I was trying to log in on Facebook. But they are spam who are trying to get access to your computer. If you have this problem turn your computer off and restart. Then, run an anti-virus on your computer

when login facebook, screen locked and asking me to call this number . they are not from microsoft, they want me to pay $170+ for annual subscription fee. I hangup.

Wife's computer locked up.  She called the number on the screen, who then proceeded to claim to represent Microsoft, and demanded $140 to unlock her computer...all the while I am yelling in the background to hang up, hang up.  We finally had to unplug the computer and reboot.  Microsoft will NEVER demand $$.

Got this randsomware notice as soon as I logged into google. It locked up everything. To 'kill' the program and get my computer back, I did these steps.
On Windows 7 – you use
Control+Alt+Delete
which brings up your task manager
click on that
and stop the program from running

And with all the Malwarebytes advertisements, I have Premium Malwarebytes on my computer and this program DID NOT PROTECT MY COMPUTER. boohiss Malwarebytes

Computer froze up with a mess to call this number I went to my phone and looked up the number to find that many have been infected with this same virus as I in the last two days. Unhooked computer will try to reboot later fingers crossed and thanks for the info
