A pop up will appear on your computer that says "Microsoft security Essentials detected an attempt at identity theft or spyware bots attack from this computer. All attempts to quarantine the threat failed.  Please contact Microsoft Live Support at 1-855-786-4337 (TOLL FREE)" Now here's the thing. If you do a search on the phone number it comes up as a tech company in India. The fun part? The image was emailed to me by a family member, to show me, as they had it pop up on their ipad. (Yes, I said their APPLE 'iPad')

I  received   this  pop-up,  or  something  virtually identical   few  days  ago  (Feb.  21,  2015).   Twice.    message  is   sort  of  nonsensical.   And so   not  credible.  HOWEVER,    the  fact that it  popped  up  is  worrisome.     Conclusion,    that   despite the  text  of  the pop  up,    I have an  issue.  Well  sheesh,  hackers into  Anthem  Blue  CROSS,  BLUE  SHIELD,  80  million  accts  couple of  weeks,  ago?
so  they have  email  address,    soc  sec  number,.  home  phone number, home  address.
only  thing  they did not  get  is  credit card  information.     Medical   stuff?    I don't  care,  we  just Jan.1  switched to   Empire  bc/bs   on  jan.  1.
The  pop  up  is  disturbing.    and  I  have   no  way  to  trace.  MY   not,  top-of-the-line  (at  all)  virus  protection  did not  detect  this.      but it  did seem to quarantine something.   wasn't  clear  what.
Throw  out  old  laptops,   very old  anyway,   change  email  addr?    will i  be  safe?   NO,  they ahve  social  security  number and home address.   etc  etc.   80 million   customers  of  BC?BS.
Final  solution is  get off of the internet......extreme????
