This would seem to be a boiler room trying to get people to sign up for a discounted rate on Comcast service, which I already have.  The first guy gives the spiel and asked for the last four digits of my SSN.  Okay, a usual procedure.  Then he turned me over to the "supervisor," which is somewhat usual, too.  But this guy hit me with a different set of numbers and asked for the First Five digits of my SSN for "security purposes."  For security purposes, I refused.  He has been calling me back and back.  I have turned off my phone.  NO ONE gets my SSN!

Left a short, silent voicemail and hung up. Given this and what others are saying I've blocked this number on my phone.

Same thing happened to me asked for my last 4 digits which sound legit but then asked me to give them my credit card # or they would open an account for me at bank of america, i refused and told me to call back at the # in my caller id and ask if comcast is running a promotion. I guess they are not

SCAM! They called and said they could lower my bill for two years. Asked me the last 4 digits and also if I was the account holder. Funny thing is I said yes and later realized that it's in my boyfriend's name. That didn't stall them. They passed me to another guy who said "All I would need is a Bank of America CC." Well, too bad for you I despise BofA and haven't set foot in one since the 90's. "Oh? Who do you bank with?" Like hell that is any of your business. I told him I would call comcast to see if this promotion was legal and I sure as hell wasn't giving a credit card number over the phone. Scammer.

Middle eastern sounding male called and asked to speak to X (me).I asked who he was and why he was calling. He replied that his name was Joe from Comcast-Xfinity and asked to speak with X again. I told him to remove me from his call list and he replied that he could not. When I asked why, he continued to push me to verify I was "X." Is this X? Is this X? When I asked him to repeat his name and who he worked for he hung up.
The same guy called our home number nine times in one day several weeks ago. We blocked his number but somehow he obtained my cell phone.

Just got a call from this number.  I've had a number of different attempts from this scam from different numbers in the past.  All offering me a discount on my comcast for 2 years and then asking for personal information.

Thing is, i know it's a scam but part of me still despises Comcast for this... because you know they sold my details for a quick buck.

I never answer my cell phone from a number I do not recognize and always google it afterwards, especially if nobody leaves a message. I just received a call from this number and since they didn't leave a message, I don't know for sure it was someone alleging to be from Comcast.

Just called and said they were from Comcast. Sounded like a man from India so it's believable. He said something about lowering my internet bill as part of a promotion. Asked to confirm my zip code which was from a couple years ago. Asked me my current zip-code. I told him to call back. Sounds suspicious. If you get a call from this number do not share your info with them.

I got a call very similar, however, they asked for my bank account information-- which I DID NOT GIVE (hello???) and then the guy got pissed and said if I wanted to take advantage of this very limited offer I needed to give him my personal info.  I hung up. This guy called me 23 times consecutively!! I finally had to block the number.  After doing so, I called Wells Fargo and they had no such promotion with Comcast. Be careful!!

So this guy said my information was forwarded to him as he noticed I was a special account holder and in conjunction with my bank (as he pretty much listed all banks, BofA, JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, Chase, etc...)  they are able to offer me 2 years of internet blast for a low $20.00 per month for the next 2 years. So playing along with this guy, I said, "oh wow! what home are you giving me the offer on because I have multiple properties?"  He said, "what home do you want it on?"  And I said, "tell me what homes you have listed and I will let you know if that's where I want internet."  He said he needed me to give him my address to verify if that is what he had on file.  I gave him some bogus street and he said, "yes, that one!"   And I said, "what info do you need from me?"  He said, "bank account, social security, and full address."  I then said, I think you are scamming me."  He said "Ma'am we are not scammers, we are legitimate company."  I said, thanks but no thanks, I'm really not  interested. This guy started shouting at me from the top of his lungs telling me that he worked for a reputable company.  I hung up. He called back each time getting my voice mail. My iPhone log showed 23 missed calls from this guy. I called Wells Fargo and they said they have no such promotions taking place and never never give out my personal information. SCAM..be careful!!
