The following is pasted directly from AreaCode.org/855. It sounds like you should NEVER answer a call from an 855 number.

Area code 855 is a future area code reserved for toll-free calls in which the calling party is not charged. Instead, the telephone carrier charges the cost of the call to the called party. Toll-free numbers, such as 855 numbers, have applications such as technical support, customer service, and personal use.

Got a call from this number. They didnt leave a message and obviously I didnt pick up or call back because I dont recognize the number. I dont answer calls from numbers I dont recognize. So they can keep on calling until they are blue in the face or until they get tired of calling my number.

company is somnapure sleep aid.  to say that an 855 caller is either a fraudulent company/scammer/criminal is close minded and straight ridiculous.  However on very rare occasion that may be true, generally this area is the cid callback for a dialer system.  If this number has called you, the odds are you placed your number on their trial application, so they would be following up

I have received one call a day from this number for the past 3 days at approximately the same time of day. I am on the do not call registry. I do not answer the call, because I do not recognize the area code or phone number.

Huh...Maybe they used their own product and fell asleep as soon as I answered, because there was nobody on the other end!  Although, I will admit that I did look at a somnapure sleep aid online ad today and almost signed up for it until I realized there would be an ongoing charge as it's like a club (14 day free trial and then a monthly charge).  That explains how they got my phone number....

Anyone or thing that calls my phone repeatedly and says nothing or hangs up,  will be considered a fraudulent company/scammer/criminal  until they talk to me and prove differently.  With all the Phishing and  scamming going on today,  via the telephone,  and all of the robo calling where non-speakers or hangups are common in 2 out of every 3 calls,    I hardly consider it closed minded to be suspicious. I would consider anyone who was not....a Fool!  Certainly not ridiculous considering all that goes on today.....via the telephone.

I got a phone call from a private number, the person stated thta they are a process server about to serve a court document, would I be home for the next hour in order to be served. I replied yes, he said that if I called the company personally that I could find out more information about "case" and that I might want to do that ASAP. I called the number and they aswered ssaying that they were a credit reporting agency, they verified my name and told me that there was a check that I wrote for a loan in 2004 for 450.00 that I needed to  pay immediately or take to court and exn up paying 3000.00-5000.00. I said I would need proof of such an accusation. They said they have me on camera cashing a check they have my ssn and a copy of my id. I said I would still need to see this check that I supposedly wrote. Their reply to me was that I would be served by a sherrif's deputy and would have to go to court and they were going to sue me for that maximum allowed amount. I just said, well serve me then, and hung up. This call scared the crap out of me, but at the same time I know I did not write a check in 2004 that would have bounced!! SOOOO WEIRD!!

    Peak Life

Peak Life is a new natural supplement company founded by two Harvard grads committed to healthy living. Check us out online or order by phone at 1-855-806-7985!

I also received calls from this number.  The above is copied and pasted from one of their sites.  They are the makers of Somnapure and are trying to sell you their product.  I verified this also by calling the number.  A recording answers:  thank you for calling Peak Life, a representative will be with you shortly..

This is the PeakLife company, manufacturer of wellness products.
I visited their website, and was inquiring about a free sample of "Somnapure" sleep aid.
The catch in the "free" part is that it involves an up-front payment for S&H, and a commitment to an ongoing auto-refill order. Before I completed this paying part, I cancelled out of it. But they had already harvested my e-mail address and phone number. I opted out of the e-mails using their website. But when I tried to opt-out by telephone, I could not.
Now they have been calling me several times a day now for several days in a row, and I can't make them stop. They have turned my inquiry (not purchase) into a nuisance.
