I got a voicemail yesterday from a Jacklyn Shriver or Traver (couldn’t understand her) saying charges have been filed against me and gave a case # with 7 numbers followed by -MI (I live in Michigan). She addressed me by my full name and then said “also known as” and said my maiden name. She sounded very stern and threatening. She said she needed to verify some info, kind of rambled about different things, basically saying if I don’t contact the firm she will show up in person at my residence or place of employment. Instructed me to call the firm at 1-877-698-2249 and said something like “you have been notified. Today, same lady called & left another message, said the same crap including this is her final attempt, blah, blah, blah but this time left a different number 1-855-809-6119. Again, ended her message with “you have been notified”. I’m pretty certain these callers are scammers. Beware people! The number she called from was blocked, but these are the number she said to call.

Just a minute ago, (June 21, 2015, 5:20 ish PM, a Sunday)   I got a call claiming to be from Verizon, shows up on my cell phone as "Unavailable,"  informing me that my e-mail account has been hacked, asking if I have sent any e-mails from Nigeria.  (I haven't.)  Caller wanted me to get in front of my computer. I told him that I wasn't home and couldn't. (I am not about to just share my screen with a cold caller.    I told him I would be home around 6:00 Tuesday. (two days from now).
He agreed to call back them. I asked him, in the event that I can get back to my computer before that, is there a number I could call back?    This is the number he gave me  (855) 809 6119  which I promptly searched on Google and found THIS page.    Caller had a heavy Indian accent.

After receiving the last call eight days ago, I went to myverizon.com and chatted with someone from Verizon who told me that the number given to me (855 809 6119) was not a Verizon number.   The man with the heavy accent called again today asking if I could get in front of my computer again today. I was in my back yard having dinner, told him I couldn't, but also told him that I took care of the problem, calling Verizon directly myself. He seemed confused... I elaborated... that I went to myverizon.net and spoke with someone and solved the problem. He became upset with me, saying that I said that he was not from Verizon.  I assured him that I didn't say that. He put his manager on the phone...  (Who also had an Indian accent)  I told him the same thing, that I had gone directly to myverizon.net, spoke with a representative and took care of the problem.   He went on about the fraudulent e-mails that used my account and ended by saying that they were going to block my e-mail account.  We'll see about that.     I haven't tried CALLING that number yet. Maybe I'll call from some other phone and see who answers.   Neither person acted totally unprofessionally,  but then again, seemed like they were "back peddling" somewhat when I wasn't doing what they wanted me to.
